It's a very rare day I ever give a 5 star rating but here it was deserved.Sure the decor leaves a lot to be desired but the food and service are outstanding. One the night there was a party booked and we got the last available table. It was noisy (in a nice way) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the food. This is definitely on our to return to list. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Javan Persian Restaurant:
The food is not bad but the owner of the business is not trustworthy at all. We decided to have our birthday party over there. Two weeks ago, Agreed on everything and paid a deposit. Again went there to confirm everything which the owner said something totally different to what we agreed and denied everything. What a disgrace. Such a disrepctful man. Will not recommend it at all. I was raised on persian food and know the difference between fresh herbs in cooked rice vs dried herbs that most places use.We were very pleased to find this place uses lots of fresh herbs in their rice & lamb shank dish.Their kebabs were served on a bed of fresh herbs also, which was lovely.Overall the food was good and well priced. They do tend to place music videos in the background so if you find it annoying, ask them to turn it down. The owner came around and asked us what we thought, which i think is good customer service. And make sure you try their fresh dill bread, its delicious and only $2!!!!!
You'll find many delicious Persian foods in Javan Restaurant. As a Persian who knows what real Persian food should taste like, I definitely suggest for you to try this place.
I love persian food and this is my new favourite - found completely by mistake when walking past. Unless you use the council car park and walk back to the main street most people will not come across this place.Walk up the stairs past the unmanned ground floor espresso machine (have never asked about this situation) and you will find an intimate space holding about 30 seats, along with a giant projection screen and disco lights for the Fri & Sat entertainment.Decor is simple, menu is a double sided one pager. But the taste of the food coming out of this kitchen defies the simple impression you make when you walk into this place. The koobideh and Joojeh and Sahi are value friendly excellent dishes and I'm happy eating any of these on any given day. The flavour within each of these dishes is just superb. And the rice - well the persians do cook rice the best!Staff are kind and friendly. On some Thursdays, but mainly Fri and Sat, they have a buffet for $35 each.Highly recommended.
I have been to Javan twice now and have loved it both times. The restaurant has a light and airy feel with windows in three sides. The service is very warm and hospitable - you feel very welcome . We had never tried Persian food before and it makes a change from the usual Indian, Chinese or Thai restaurants. The food is excellent and honestly the rice is the best I've ever had ! It is light and fluffy and each grain is seperate- how do they do that???The staff make you feel like part of the family and we're very attentive and recommended us food to try.We went on a busy night and it had a party atmosphere- there is a large projector showing Persian pop videos and the owner also takes a turn playing a keyboard to add to the atmosphere. If you want something different with very warm Persian hospitality you can't find better than this lovely little restaurant
