Still one of the best lunch buffet in Waikiki for the price. All dishes are fresh and tasteful. Much better than most Japanese restaurants in Honolulu. The only complaint is the menu never change, a bit difficult for local residents to dine frequently for the same dishes.......... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kaku's Sushi And Seafood Buffet:
I made a reservation through OpenTable, but when I arrived at the restaurant, they found my reservation in a somewhat illegible booking log. However, the service and staff were very friendly. There's a nice, fully equipped bar, but it wasn't open for dinner service. View all feedback.
Good food. Excess to food difficult. Had to start at beginning of line I even if you wanted only certain foods.
Kaku did not have our open table reservation when we arrived. Very disappointing!
There was a pretty decent selection of sushi, however, that meant not many pieces of each group. Therefore, it ran out very quickly and took quite a while to replenish. Ironic that they give you a 90 minute time limit; much of your time will be waiting for the sushi. There was not too many seafood dishes, either. So, the price for an AYCE sushi and seafood buffet was inflated. Quite deceiving as I could did not get “ all I could eat,” as I got tired of waiting. I attempted to speak to some staff, who could not understand me, nor I, them- language barrier. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant.

Service setting was good, but the food wasn’t up to my expectations. The crab legs were fresh.
