To be honest, I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from this establishment because it was on the beachfront and so I didn’t know if the food would be good as the view here… But both were wonderful. Their cocktails were amazing as well. I had the Endless Summer cocktail and it was very tasty. The food was really good as well. My partner had the ribs with chicken (forget the name of the dish) and it was really good. I had th... View all feedback.
What Alex Shaffer doesn't like about Duke's Waikiki:
Waiter: Scotty was quite nice about how I wanted to order my food after some silly confusion. That being said the ribs are 90% bone we ordered two so it wasn’t a fluke and was incredibly stiff meat not tender at all. Very difficult to pull off the bone and was cold by the time I ate it. Very disappointing for a $40 rack of 4.5 ribs View all feedback.
Definitely a popular place and now we know why! Lunch buffet had so many options.. I'm gluten free, so I went for the Cajun Fish Tacos in a lettuce wrap instead of the buffet. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. For sure Duke's is family friendly highly recommend for that. And the drinks are delicious I had the Lava Flow (pictured), and my daughter had the Zero Proof Mango Smoothie. The service was outstanding attentive and patient. My husband went on a journey to find a parking space, and our servers never once made us feel pressured to hurry up or rush. 2 final tips: definitely make a reservation and if you need parking, plan for an extra 20 30 minutes. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and would strongly recommend!!!
Reservations for dinner are hard to get. We lucked out on getting lunch reservations. I will forever be dreaming of their nachos! Our waiter was top notch. His drink recommendation was spot on and he went above and beyond for a birthday celebration. Very thankful to your staff for the great service and outstanding food. We hope to come back again!
I was a little bit dubious at first. Booking 3 months in advance for a lunch? Come taking the Mickey here people right? Worth the wait just for the hula pie. One slice was good for 4 of us but embrace the diabetes and have one to yourself. Worth it though. Great location on the beach and surprised how big it was inside. Our food was pretty quick and the staff were just delightful. Would go back just for hula pie. You can wait for a table but on peak periods expect an hour minimum wait. If you want a dinner reservation you are looking at 6 months in advance. Banger of a place.
Great eat spot on the beach! There is also a live band there also. Food and drinks were great! Must show proof of 48 hour covid test or vaccine card to dine in. We had both the vaccine card and test before arriving in Hawaii due to so many changes there. Ask for Travis who was a great and attentive server!
We made reservations six months in advance and thank god we did. There was a two hour wait the night we went. Our server was super nice and loved to chat, which made for a friendly experience. The drinks were ridiculously strong, but not in a gross I can’t drink this sort of way. The food was flavorful and well cooked. Definitely a touristy spot, but one worth going to. The hula pie was ok; it was HUGE, but not anything I would ever purposefully order again.
