What Lyn Wandell doesn't like about Grandma's Kitchen:
I can't say how the food is because we waited one hour to get a table, but gave up and left because we were too hungry to wait. Then we went to the farmers market on the way out of town and they had yummy food there already to go. Don't even try to go there on a Sunday morning. Only restaurant open then. It's a very small restaurant. View all feedback.
This place was amazing. Just happened upon it while driving and sightseeing. Gramma even came out and said hello and joked around with us. Amazing service. Portions were big. Food was tasty! This is one place you do not want to miss
If you're visiting the Big Island, you have to stop here! The food is so good, just like Grandma makes! Huge portions and very reasonably priced. Grandma herself is the sweetest woman!!!

Best service and hardest working server I've seen in YEARS! The poor lady was literally running non-stop! Wonderful food and a great experience
When we first arrived, there was a waitlist for seating (this is a very small place with limited sit-down seating . Some in our group needed to use the restroom, so we went out the back door to the restroom outside the rear through a walkway. While waiting, I was approached by a busy woman taking a break from cooking and washing dishes. She introduced herself as Gramma ! I thought having the owner and cook stop to say hello and introduce herself was very nice. She was very pleasant and wished us a nice visit. Our table was ready as soon as returning from the restroom. We were seated in a tight spot but then offered a larger table once that opened up within 2 minutes. The food was very delicious, and the portions were great! Soda tasted odd (maybe the water used to make the ice cubes? . It was a fun and delicious experience and added fun memories to our trip. We stopped at some souvenir shops across the street after our meal. We would definitely go back there again. Check the operating hours before you go; they have limited open hours.
