there were so many vegan options with tofu and vegetables. the owner was so friendly, I love to support small, family-run companies. the food was exactly what I wanted: protein, salat and rice. I am in the usually not big in rice, so I was so surprised when this rice had to go for several bites. I have the curry tofu (not the one with veggies.) I also have a side of the shiny, but it was too sharp for me. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Yardie Spice:
They have many vegan options. But don't order veggie curry. They use frozen vegetables for it. I also tried Leon's Legume, because the owner said that that was his favorite. It was just over-cooked sauteed vegetables. It's way overpriced for $11. View all feedback.
Absolutely amazing! The inside of the restaurant is very picturesque. The owner is incredibly nice and helps you through the menu when it is the first time. My husband and I ordered three dishes to try a combination of food. It is very rare that we find ourselves with a hard time to choose a favorite dish. All three dishes were excellent. We couldn't stop eating and take nothing home. They won't be disappointed.
The owner is so friendly and helps you through the menu when you board. I think his wife makes cooking in the back and the person is delicious. This was my first time with Jamacian/Hiatian food and I will definitely try more of it in the future! Thank you for the wonderful introduction to the kitchen!
Yardie Spice is the kind of restaurant you want to visit. The food is delicious with very delicate and tasteful goats Curry. The gentleman work was so friendly and the atmosphere was great even on a weekday lunch. I also recommend the Farses and spicy Slav. Will definitely come back!
Yardie Spice is a top-notch diner serving authentic Jamaican and Haitian casual cuisine, with a good variety of menu options including all the popular chicken and seafood island dishes from Jamaica and Haiti as well as several delicious vegan choices and some of the best mango-passionfruit-ginger juice you've ever had. Yardie Spice is small and happily focused on quality over quantity, serving great food to those who know about them, and as such have established a following of locals who frequent the restaurant regularly. It is family-owned and operated by a collection of friendly and engaging Jamaican and Haitian people who will help newcomers decide what particular dish will suit their taste and pallet amidst their particular tolerance for strong island spices. I personally chose the classic Jamaican jerk chicken over rice and salad, and it was perfectly done, spiced just right and extremely delicious!
Delicious and vegetarian/vegan friendly! I am vegetarian and ordered from their vegan menu. I had Leon's Legumes and highly recommend it!! We also had the beignets and they too were delicious. The service was also great!
