The portions here are enormous and absolutely delicious, and the service is impressively fast. We visited on a Friday night without a reservation and were seated immediately. Although there were many reserved signs at the tables, it wasn't overly crowded during our visit. The schnitzel was fantastic, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his beef in dark beer gravy—it was gone in no time! It's a charming little spot with... View all feedback.
We had a wonderful experience. The food was great and the owner and service couldn't have been any better. Pic of my dad enjoying the black cherry cake and the strudel was great too!
Food was excellent. Service top notch and great attitude. Small quaint resraurant where reservations are preferred. We had the brats with sauerkraut and potatoes and my dad had the wiener snitzel. My husband had some beer which he thought was very good. We took home a slice more like a giant wedge) of the black forest cake it was really good. We all said we would go back.
THIS IS A MUST FOR ANYONE VISITING ON ANNA MARIA ISLAND. The portions are enormous! The menu is amazing, the service is amazing! Call ahead and reserve a table, it will make everything easier. We did not reserve a table, but we were still treated with the same kindness and wonderful service as everyone else. The owner is very active and kind, he loves to greet and talk with his customers. THE FOOD WAS SO SO GOOD. It was so fresh, and it was so good. 10/10 I would come here again.
Wunderbar. Authentic German cuisine. Many of the German restaurants I've tried in the U.S. do not have red cabbage, so I was excited to eat here when I saw it on the menu. Gary, one of the owners, greeted every table. I ordered the sauerbraten and is was delicious. My mom had the pork loin. She was hesitant to eat here, having never had German food. I told her that she would like it and Old Hamburg proved me right. Try the apfelstrudel, it isn't Americanized with too much sugar.
As a local real estate broker I often get asked where to go eat on Anna Maria island. I had no experience with German food and I had to ask a lot of questions which seemed to annoy the woman behind the bar. If you like German food this family seems be be authentic and passionate about what they do. Seems to also be a hangout for a very large mug beer . Cheers and I hope you enjoy your stay on AMI. I live close by and have been in the business of helping buyers and sellers for 29 years as the broker owner of Coastal Key Realty… look me up ready to help.
