Shokudo - Hoboken

Pretty much everything that you could do wrong with ramen was done here. Eggs were hard boiled, chashu was burnt, and the spicy miso we ordered was a whole 0% spicy. Had to drown it in sriracha just to give it a bit of kick. I’m honestly almost impressed by how bad this was.

I've been to Shokundo twice and the two times I was disappointed specially with the customer service. I tempt to pay attention to how a supervisor/boss represents his/her business and how he/she interacts with the clientele and at Shokudo I noticed while the employees are wearing the uniform the owner at the register was wearing a Balenciaga shirt. The food was okay, nothing really impressed me for the amount of money I paid. The matcha dessert was not good.

A really great spot with a relaxing atmosphere. Would have been 5 start but the skewers were very small for the price and the pancake wasn't my favorite.Went for lunch and enjoyed the open air vibe and tasty food. I ordered spicy pork buns delicious, a chicken skewer (negima small but tasty, scallop skewer (hotate very small but tasty, and okonamiyaki good. Jake (the owner was very attentive and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. :

Spicy pork bun was really good. Comes with 2 piece. The staff are super kind and nice. The ramen is solid but I’d prefer the broth to be more thick. There’s a lot of topping in the ramen I guess. The price is a little higher than even restaurants in the city for some reason

Great casual ramen spot. They have a lot of options. Spicy miso was excellent. I'm sad that I couldn't try every ramen. I will go back
