With a cozy interior and welcoming locals, it provides a delightful experience for casual diners and beer enthusiasts alike. While the drinks receive positive remarks, the food has garnered mixed reviews, with some traditional dishes falling short of expectations; watery gravies and overcooked vegetables have disappointed some diners. However, the back garden offers a pleasant setting, and the pub's charm, rich history, and friendly staff make it worth a visit, especially for those seeking a community vibe and a good pint.
Excellent Sunday roast and very attentive staff also dog friendly.
Visited on a quiet afternoon. large interieur with several rooms in traditional style. very pleasant service and a beautiful place for a pint. please see timothy taylors boltmaker on the hand pump and it was good. garden also recommended on the back.
Had recently had a nice lunch. very cheap prices and good selection in the menu. nice clean pub and friendly renters. had not waited for food long. would recommend.
Was ok that the drinks were not as cheap as we had 50 % food business that had introduced government. yet we still cost a bit of drinks. besides this very nice and tidy.
An Authentic English Pub! This is a real English pub! With more than 300 years of history it has many stories to tell. Highway men drank at this pub. WWI wounded Aussies at the local hospital drank at this pub. Royalty visited this pub. It has real history! Low ceilings. Cosy sitting areas. Well stocked bar. Sunday lunch was excellent! Real pub food! Roast lamb and veg was as good as it gets. But what makes this pub stand out is the people. Wonderful serving staff. Bar manager was attentive, calm, talking effortlessly to every guest. Every one there was a local. Elderly people in their 80’s having a traditional Sunday roast. Listening to the locals was a pleasure. Endless stories. Lots of laughter. These are the real English people you won’t get in a fancy London pub. This is a pub where you are welcome. Just when you think it can’t get any better an “Arthur Daly” lookalike turned up and took over the conversation!!! THE KINGS ARMS IS A GREAT ENGLISH PUB! Worth the visit!
