While the location boasts stunning views and a bustling atmosphere, the menu features a range of pricey options that may leave some patrons longing for better value. Though the food quality is praised, especially for its fresh sandwiches and delightful cakes, many feel the cost is excessive for basic offerings. Long queues can detract from the experience, yet efficient service helps mitigate wait times. Overall, the charming ambiance and friendly staff make it a worthwhile stop, particularly for those exploring the nearby attractions.
We only got some snacks to take on the tour bus but the staff provided a bag and napkins for us once we explained what we were trying to do. There was good selection of snacks and drinks.
I had the delicious soup of the day and enjoyed the complimentary glasses of water. My husband liked his pie. The cafe was clean and had a great variety of cakes to choose from.
We’re told on arrival that the castle closes at 4, rest of the facilities at 4:25pm. Went to view the castle first as it was 3pm already and wanted to have a quick coffee after. We got inside just after 4 and got told the cafe was closed already never had a chance to have a coffee and a disappointing end to a nice visit. Wouldn’t trust the information you’re given, castle worth the visit but rest of the facilities not so much…
We only had coffee, no food so am unable to comment too much. Busy place with tables outside, plenty of choice of food on the menu. Happy to return one day.
After the visiting the Castle, we needed to dry out and recharge (we were not alone). We managed to share a table with two others, which was very friendly. Our hot drinks were good and made us feel better. We also enjoyed chicken wraps which were generous in size and tasty.
