I have been dining at Kalpasi in the Herndon area since 2016, and the food has never disappointed us. Our favorite dishes are the mutton biryani, naan, and chicken lollipops! The Chettinad style dishes are delicious as well. When we visited around 12:15, the restaurant was not crowded on the weekend. The restaurant is clean and they take good safety precautions during the pandemic. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kalpasi Indian Cuisine:
Kalpasi appears to be good only for the Veg/non veg entree, as for multiple occurrences never had issue . But the recent take out experience from the restaurant had been terrible. Ordered a ?Mutton Biryani? and ?Chicken 65? . The biryani rice was clearly overcooked with excess water. It was sticky, mushy and had oil as well. The chicken 65 was just deeply fried chicken which appeared to be burnt. (Check attached imag... View all feedback.
The South Indian cuisine at this restaurant is delicious and authentic, although the service may not be top-notch.
This Indian restaurant is the worst I've been to in decades. I have been living in the DC metro area since 1972 and visited this place tonight with a friend who had recommended it. The decor is average at best, but the goat curry was the worst piece of meat I have ever had in my life! There was hardly any meat, just fat and skin, for $16. I am of South Asian descent and cook desi dishes often, including goat curry. This dish was extremely disappointing.
My family and I absolutely adore this restaurant! The staff is always so friendly and the food is simply incredible! The rice is always cooked perfectly and the chicken 65 is a flavor explosion in every bite. We've tried other Indian restaurants in the area, but this one is definitely top-notch in terms of quality. We've ordered from here multiple times and have never been let down. We're thrilled to have discovered this fantastic spot to indulge in delicious Indian cuisine.

The restaurant is in a comfortable location, with excellent customer service and delicious food. The food exceeded my expectations, with the pomfret fish fry being a must-try dish. Overall, I was very satisfied with my dining experience.
