The Austrian apple slice alone is worth the trip from Melbourne. Tiny bakery, only three small tables, plastic cutlery and best visited when quiet. Cash only. But the redeeming characteristic is the range of old fashioned, unique, baked goods. View all feedback.

I visited the Pastry King Bakery because the sign shouted, (award winning bakery). So, I tried the steak pie and at $4.40 it got no awards. My friend was interested in the blueberry tarts and walked away disappointed. The sign worked, I will give them that because a steady stream of people were walking in, saying, "it says award winning ". It is advertising over quality. View all feedback.
Teens noticed the pastries in window keenly demanded. Enjoyed a lamington cream creation apple pie. Munched down with a smile. Nothing for tubby parent ha.
On a very cold Saturday afternoon we saw every table out the front of this bakery was filled with people eating. We noticed too that there was a huge crowd of people inside buying up their treats, so we decided to join in. For the two of us we ordered one sponge and fresh cream cupcake for my husband, and a chocolate eclair for me. We are now at an age where eating food like this is definitely for occasional treats, but I have to admit that throughout my life I’ve eaten a lot of chocolate eclairs. And I mean a LOT of chocolate eclairs! It’s no word of a lie to say that this was the best chocolate eclair I have ever eaten. And that’s saying something. THE BEST CHOCOLATE ECLAIR THAT I HAVE EVER EATEN. I would drive from Melbourne to Daylesford simply to buy one. Or two. Seriously, you must visit when you’re in the area. You will not be disappointed.
Excellent choice of cakes and my skinny, extra hot flat white Coffee was also made just as I like it. It was mid week and they were only moderately busy so could not fault friendliness or service from staff members. There is only limited outside seating so would definitely be a problem on busy days.
Good older style pastry bakery. Friendly staff. Extensive range of sweet treats along with savory pies, sausage rolls, sandwiches and rolls. Dutch vanilla slice was awesome. Good coffee. Limited seating on the footpath.
The choice of cakes and slices were great and the service was acepable. The coffee and hot chocolate leaves a lot to be desired. The choice of milks are very limited and my wife had to have a black tea as there was no milk she could have. The tables out the front were dirty and needed a wipe over.
