Really extraordinary dishes from Mexico. Craft cocktails and various entrees shine at Mateo's! We always enjoy our time there, but last week was great! Despite the great selection on the menu, I ordered the choice of vegetarian cook and it was not disappointed. I was thinking about the plate days... Mateo in partnership with Preston Farmen/Weingerei also makes some of the best hot sauce in Sonoma County... It is bold... View all feedback.

Despite the great selection on the menu, I ordered the choice of vegetarian cook and it was not disappointed. I was thinking about the plate days... Mateo in partnership with Preston Farmen/Weingerei also makes some of the best hot sauce in Sonoma County... It is bold, hot and fresh... Although the restaurant's location can soon find a new home, we are waiting for another fantastic meal from Mateo and his talented staff...
What a fantastic experience!!! I'm so glad I found this place! Leo gave is excellent service, intuitively recommended dishes that we loved and made us a special drink based on our desire. Hat to cook! I am Mexican and have very high standards for Latin cousin. All we had was top notch, creative, spicy, interesting and the presentation was just beautiful. The handmade tortillas are perfect! If you're in the area, just try.
I came to an early dinner. 1. Oysters, fresh and the vinegrette with shallots was perfect. 2. The blue potato tortilla with the pulled pig with pickled onions, pure beans very delicious. 3. The Baby Shrimp Ceviche beautiful, but I expected more taste. 4. Margarita, the house version was loaded with taste and stamp. 5. Guocamole, slightly too thin. Not enough oomf. Sa in the terrace and they moved my table closer to the heat lamp. Service attentive. 20% tip! The price is up there, but the time is very worthwhile.
First visit to Mateo's. Delicious lunch. We shared the Empanizado de Pezcado, a baked fish dish and Bistec Yucateco, slowly brewed beef, both were excellent! Served with handmade tortillas. So happy to live in Healdsburg with this kind of fine food a few blocks of home.
As a frequent visitor to Mateo's I can honestly say that he's one of the most creative chefs I've ever met. If you're looking for the same dish every season, you won't necessarily find it at Mateo's. He's so dedicated to sourcing his ingredients seasonally, you'll be delighted to find citrus during the winter in your salad but pears during the fall. I feel it's important to be authentic, and I think Mateo nails that with his food every time. Try something you've never tried before at Mateo's and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
