The Gates On Roblin - Headingley

We had an intimate wedding reception here and I truly recommend them! It was easy coordinating with Laura. She responded to our emails quickly, and she was so knowledgeable with wedding details, you could tell she is experienced! We had some kids who were overlooked by their parents and were going out of our venue and were entering into the lounge, and Laura is so polite to remind us about it. Very nice and approachable!<br/ <br/ We arrived to stay in the bridal room that we rented and they served us coffee and water. Their property alone is already so beautiful that we didn’t have to put up a lot of decorations. The bride and groom were also able to have their wedding pictorials around the property! We didn’t have to go to another park to do that, whereas in other hotels, they don’t have that kind of property. <br/ <br/ What I liked best is that they have a menu with options for the main course for our guests. It wasn’t the traditional menu like in other hotels where you can only choose a uniform course for all of the guests like a chicken cordon bleu. I’ve coordinated wedding before and so this is what I loved about The Gates! We had options from salmon, to chicken, to steak, and vegetarian! They served the food in a timely manner. They served them all together so it wasn’t awkward that one table had their food while another haven’t. Service was topnotch!<br/ <br/ Also shoutout to a Ray, he is the manager. We noticed that he was paying attention to us while we were setting up the decors. He came and asked us what we needed, and immediately helped us out. We had a guitar and live singer last minute, and he came help set up the equipment for us! <br/ <br/ Thank you The Gates for a non-stressful wedding. We will surely recommend you to our community. We will come back for other weddings and occasions in our family!

Wonderful ambience, delicious food. Knowledgeable staff. I have many food allergies and the chef came out to talk to me. Made me the most delicious dish.

The Gates on Roblin is an excellent venue for a special date night. My SO took me here for our anniversary last weekend. I have nothing but positive to say about it! Friendly service, excellent food and ambient! <br/ <br/ We had a double cream brie to start. It was served with kale pesto, roasted garlic, apples, sliced almonds. It was absolutely delicious! <br/ <br/ For entree, we had the pork tenderloin with mushroom, brie, apple, walnuts. wrapped in prosciutto, and we also had the slow roasted prime ribs that was served with garlic whipped potatoes. <br/ <br/ The prime ribs were excellent, it was at expectation. For the pork tenderloin, we honestly can't tell you what they did to it but it was absolutely DELICIOUS! We honestly had no idea on how one could make the pork so flavourful but somehow the chef did it! They did a phenomenal job on the meals. <br/ <br/ For dessert, we had the Peach Cobbler and the Chocolate Burborn Peacan Flan. They were excellent! <br/ <br/ We would highly recommend this place to all, esp on special occasions!

Attended a private event, and the food, drinks, and staff all exceeded any expectation! Especially the Creme Brûlée for dessert, had an excellent crunch/tap of the sugar!

Just went for a company Xmas lunch at the gates. First time there always a bit nervous about trying new places like this. I always have it in the back of my mind now that attending with a group will equal limited menu (Thx Pineridge Hollow for making me such a bitter soul. Pls see my review on them for further details on why I discourage everyone I talk to from eating there). But I digress back to the Gates! Lunch menu had excellent variety. We were NOT limited to a few items, even though there were 16 of us. Food arrived promptly, and was simply outstanding! Portion size was good. Quality was absolutely over the top. Really. Def check this place out. Highly recommended. Can't say enough good things!
