What User doesn't like about The White Hart Country Inn:
Despite the friendly service and atmosphere, I can’t give this place anything other than the lowest marks because the food just isn’t very good and is far too expensive for what you get. They have one vegan starter a very spicey but not very tasty leek on sourdough dish. There’s a few vegan options for mains a curry, a burger and a risotto. The burger was extremely tasteless, although had a decent texture. View all feedback.
We went on a busy Saturday night without having booked. Nevertheless, they found a table for us after we had a drink through the cozy log fire, and then went away from telling us about the vegan options. on the menu there are a few standard vegetarian options (bohnenburger and sweet potato curry) my partner had the curry and said it was delicious. when I asked about vegan options (on salad and chips) the chef actually came out of the kitchen to tell me what they do me and ask what I tied. at the end I went for Mediterranean vegetables (tomatoes, olives, wobble, garlic) on a bed of large field mushrooms. that may not sound very exciting, but it was cooked so well, the aromen were delicious! Moreover, the portion sizes for our massive appetite after running throughout the day were sufficient. I would like to point out that this is essentially a traditional, cozy British pub, with open fire and good real ale, and that we have called this into being. the openness for veganism and vegan options were a bonus! the character of the place is wonderful and in a unique and magnificent landscape.
We talked with the waitress in detail about the menu, as she was vegetarian and her friend vegan, so everything on the menu had tried what was helpful. there are several vegan options, including olives on the “Nibbles” section of the menu. the olives with brot, oils and balsamico are not characterized as vegan, but can be made vegan, only without butter on the brot. there is also a suppe as a starter. three net parts including burger, curry and bolognese. we tried the burger and curry that both were nice. I originally planned to order pasta, which was in the online menu, but has since been replaced by the curry. it turns out that the menu changes all three months with each season, so they don't put their heart on a dish, because it can be different from the menu in the pub! no vegan desserts sad, but overall a really cozy place with more options than I expected if I planned a visit in the yorkshire dales. updated by the previous review on 2021-10-17
Very limited plant-based menu. unimaginatiw and bland.
Great pub, great beer especially the baa baa and a top notch barmaid 'sally 'best alcohol in hot!
Absolutely super! had a 5-day stay in hawes and discovered this place at our second night, and came back to our fourth and last night. everything is faultless. from the moment they arrive, they know that they are for a tasty bite! the selection of beer/ales and weep is more than what they expect, although they are in yorkshire and the bar and restaurant have shown a great environment. eating here is incredible. at both nights we had 2-3 meals that were super! could not recommend this place enough.
