What Louis Khan doesn't like about Castle Tandoor:
I visited this restaurant on a Friday evening with friends. The location on George Street attracts a lot of local customers, but we were surprised to find it empty when we arrived. The staff were friendly enough, but the decor was outdated and the food was below the standard we would expect from a restaurant like Kollektiw. Additionally, the prices were higher than we would typically expect to pay. Sorry, Castle Tand... View all feedback.

Of course, the decoration is not new, but it is clean and the service is good and friendly, so we are not disturbed by this . very friendly if not many people when we went last Friday. a good address for us!
There was 17 of us, tables were booked in advance, it took approx 1 and a half hours from ordering to receiving any food, it came in a disjointed manner, one person got rice but then waited 15 mins for a curry, some got their...curry but no rice for a similar time and some didn't get their food at all. This is the worst Indian restaurant I have been to in a very long time they lost 17 potential customers and probably a good few more by word of mouth. Definitely a place to avoid for large parties!
We visited for a meal with friends and were so impressed by the high standard of food and reasonable price. There was no trace of the mass produced, microwaveable ingredients full of red dye which you get in most Indian restaurants these days. The food...was freshly prepared and tasted like I remember from the old days when most curry houses had high standards and served authentic curries. This place is the real deal. Would highly recommend. The waiting staff were polite and friendly too.
The service was friendly and they coped well with our high spirited group. The food pleasant and served hot and quickly.
Wow. Pretty much every part of this meal was subtly fantastic. The rogan josh sauce was mind blowing. I had the chicken tikka Ceylon. Special mention goes to the garlic naan. And the true taste hunters should check out the tamarind pickles in the chutney...selection. Salt sour explosions! Top notch. Would come back in a heartbeat.
