Morton's The Steak House - Hartford

We are steak snobs, eat out often, and for fans of past reviews , most steak houses reviewed are in NYC. My only 5* was Club A , maybe Keens, can't recall. Well I am very pleased to report that my first Boston Capital Grille experience was all 5.0's . Started off with French Onion Soup 5.0 excellent, girlfriend got clam chowder 5.0 . I got a bone in Filet Mignon Med Rare sliced, and my girlfriend got the Filet Wagu Mignon sliced. . I thought mine melted in my mouth until I tased hers...Yikes.....perfect. We got sauteed spinach 4.9 and potato Au-gratin 5.0 excellent. How can you beat all of this... Well if you like cheese cake and you like creme brulee, how about CheeseCake with a layer of Creme Brulee on top with fresh berries .... Wow. The service from Alexander was excellent, 5.0 For those who view Capital Grille as a chain like Ruth's, others, forget about it.... This is worth the trip.

Honestly, I wasn't very impressed with this restaurant. I had heard great things, but it didn't live up to them. For starters the bread and butter was good. My drink was also good. I couldn't taste any alcohol; I'm not sure if that was a good or bad thing. For my entrée, I got a New York strip with blue cheese butter, creamed spinach, and mashed potatoes. The sides were great. My steak was overcooked making it very hard to chew. My friends enjoyed their meals. One had a T-bone steak and the other a filet mignon. I also enjoyed the dessert, but it was just regular. In conclusion I won't be knocking anyone down to get back to this restaurant. P.S. The valet sucked. It was raining cats and dogs. They went to get our car and came back to the door, not opening any car doors for us.

Had a fun dinner with friends at the Capital Grille. This place is absolutely so classy and top-notch! The service was impeccable. We had an excellent server who anticipate our every move but didn't have her. I start out with bonanza wine. It was so yummy and then switched to a vodka club soda, which I told the server was made perfectly! we had cocktail served on a bed of ice with lemon and cocktail sauce so good! I had the salmon over green beans. The salmon was a little bit dry but a very generous portion and I still enjoyed it. I had a side of asparagus cooked to perfection, the bread was so soft and unsalted butter complement it well. My friend had the steak which picture turned out blurry with Holliday sauce. Aside of mashed potatoes my son is saying could be the best ever. While Expensive, this is quite an experience and I would highly recommend.

Celebrated a memorable birthday dinner at Capital Grille in Hartford, and the experience was remarkable! The service was impeccable and really elevated the evening, starting with the warm welcome from Natalie, our sweet host. Lu, our awesome server, helped ensure our evening was special. You can't go wrong with the steak, an absolute highlight, incredibly delicious. Jose at the bar was wonderful to talk to too and provided us with our amazing drinks and drink recommendations. Highly recommend Capital Grille for its exceptional service, inviting atmosphere, and spectacular food!!

Another outstanding dining experience. I have come to expect excellence from The Capital Grille and once again, they came through! OUTSTANDING service from John H., beautiful ambience, and of course great cocktails, appetizers, and entrées. Well done team! I look forward to returning soon.
