This little jewel was thrown away and we happened randomly on this place and I'm so glad we did. The cheese steak was huge! It was so tasteful, hot and fresh. The cheeses were also good. I love the decor in place and it was nice and clean inside and outside. The server/bartender was very friendly and helpful when we asked for suggestions what was good on the menu. What User doesn't like about Urgies Cheesesteaks:
Not saying anything about the food but apparently they have a walkout fee (which I understand if people walk out but I did not) I got charged $40 for a drink and fries I should have paid $9 for. I called and apparently it should be “credited to my account” and I should “talk to my bank.” If you are going to charge me $40 for a $9 meal you need to tell me before that happens. Unbelievably incompetent staff. Notified that our order would be “ready 9:13pm” just enough time to pick it up get to work by 10pm. Arrived 9:20 w/2 folks ahead of me so I let them know I was there (7min AFTER the ready time). No response no acknowledgment.9:30 I tell them I need to go come back… “oh no yours is ready” TEN MINUTES LATER.This is why I hate giving a tip in an app BEFORE service is completed. Urgies should have tipped ME. ?
It's a good cheesesteak. They have tots! I only eat in at lunch and the service is fine. I'm not sure how it is when it's busy. But it's a nice feel for lunch. Relaxed.
Good cheesesteak. They get the ingredients right wiz and fried onions (with the option to add more). A lot of places say philly cheesesteak but are way off the essence is here. The winner for me was the pirogies. Staff was friendly and food was ready on time. Cool place.
Ambiance 10/10Service 10/10Food 10/10 BUT BE PREPARED TO WAIT AT LEAST 35+ minutes for food. Every time we visit when we're in town i make it a point to go here but the kitchen is dramatically slow. doesn't matter if it's 6pm on a friday night or a tuesday at 12pm. You will always wait forever.. Still giving 4 stars because i'm a patient person and the gritty fries are so worth it.
Service is 15/10. I ordered and was told 25 minutes. Was ready in maybe 15? Tops probably less. And the guy at the bar was really chill. The wings and fries are really freaking good. I got a cheesesteak with the wiz too. Was way too salty for me personally but I know others who swear by them.Will deff be going back for the wings though.
