Hamilton's Tavern 1840 - Harpers Ferry

This place is amazing. It is 15 minutes walk from the center of the city where the historical part and railway station and it must be the best restaurant in the area. The place is chic farmhouse-y appearance and felt very comfortable. Open kitchen and where we sat, we had a look at the cook. The cook seems to be really passionate about what he does. Waitress was friendly, super sweet and attentive. Followed by COVID policy mask, limiting ability, social distancing. Very responsible. Now for dinner... DELICIOUS! Its farm fresh, no microwave, air freezers, all completely freshly cooked with fresh ingredients. The polpetta, which was a filled meat ball was packed with taste of savor. Meatball was tender. My husband and I fought for pieces. We both had the grilled cheese and tomatoes bisque and it was comfort food best. The grilled cheese - the bread was buttery, roasted to perfection and fluffy with a beautiful goofy center paired with the suppleness of ham. The tomato bisque was creamy and tomatoes, but not to tomatoes. The point is that you have to come here.

I came here two nights in a row. The first night we dived. The shrimps Mac and cheese were a hit for adults and children alike. The pig bell was delicious with a tropical risotto with pineapple for sweetness. We got two out at night. The burger was phenomenal and cooked for perfection. Grilled cheese with ham was hearty, filled and perfectly paired with the handle of the bright tomato bisque. All right!

Anthony has put together a chic and grounded atmosphere and with Jeremiah, a wonderful cook with a fabulous personality, it is a recipe for success! Anthony untiringly decorated the venue for wedding and stunning does not begin to describe the lights, decor, contemplative touches and ambience. The guests were in awe when they went through the barn doors, and the bride and the bridegroom were stunned. Thank you. Anthony! Jeremiah made the rehearsal dinner and the wedding and went beyond and beyond, buried on our needs and constantly checked to see what else could be done. He has a large and competent staff who constantly sought to add smiles and special touches to the service. Would definitely recommend the food and the cook. If you find yourself in the area, check the tavern and if you need a cater, best choice is Jeremiah!

This has been some of the finest food I’ve eaten since Victoria and Albert’s! The flavors, textures and seasoning are a delight fir the palate. Each dish is distinctive and delicious. The small plates allow opportunity to try several dishes before reaching satiety. Our dining experience at Hamilton’s is a highlight of our time in Harpers Ferry! Enjoy!
