The Old Red Lion - Harborough

Great for a nice meal and to hang out with friends and family the steaks are great and I recommend a ice cream sundae

Have been here many times and had amazing meals. We were really disappointed with our latest visit. Both myself and my husband decided on the 10oz rump steak (medium cooked) and added scampi to the order, what arrived was one steak that did resemble the shape of a steak and another big lump of meat that had been cut down the middle. Neither tasted of steak as it was too well done and dry to swallow. The chips were ok although a couple were hard inside (they ended up partly chewed in a napkin) and the peas were shrivelled up. The 6 pieces of scampi were delicious. When asked by the young waiter, who looked embarrassed, if our food was alright we told him it was ok. We decided not to have a desert as we just wanted to get out of there. It wasn't as though they had too many meals to cook as there were only us and 3 other couples in there at the time £41 for 2 meals, pint of lager and a diet coke and came away wishing we had went to mcdonalds instead

The pub has delicious food with a wide variety of options on the menu. It has a traditional pub atmosphere with a modern and airy touch. The decor is nice, but be aware that the ceilings are low for those over 6ft tall. Normally, the portions are generous, but on a recent Saturday night, three out of four of us ordered fajitas and the servings were not enough for the group. It was disappointing as it was clear that the wrong order was sent to the kitchen.

I took my Great Uncle to this restaurant for his 96th birthday and he had a great time. The food was amazing, the staff was very helpful and attentive. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience!

The old red lion, back to how I remember it!. Not busy 5-6, perfect for us. Excellent food, beer service.. can't wait to come back.
