I'm from North Texas and have been enjoying Shive's pizza since I was a little girl visiting family in BS. As an adult, I even brought my own family there for pizza. I'm really saddened to see them close down; it was one of our favorite traditions during our visits! View all feedback.
What Paula Angle Showe doesn't like about Shives Pizza Sub Shop:
I visited this restaurant a few months back, and as newcomers to the area, we were looking for something better than fast food. Given the prices on the menu, we expected generous portions and quality meals. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. The portions were small, the subs left us feeling unsatisfied, and the pizza tasted like it came from a frozen box—it reminded me of Chef Boyardee. We left feeling very d... View all feedback.

Freshly made dough is always a great choice. I ordered the sausage and mushroom pizza, and it was really flavorful.
My family really enjoys ordering takeout from Shives. The food is incredible, particularly the steak and cheese wedgie. However, the staff could definitely improve their service. We try to support local restaurants by ordering from them weekly, so we've eaten here about once a month. I always give a generous tip because I appreciate the effort that goes into preparing my order. Unfortunately, the staff often seems annoyed by my presence when I go to pick up my food. The owners are fantastic people, and I’m sure they wouldn’t approve of this kind of attitude.
The food here is fantastic! I've only tried the wedgie, which consists of ant meat and your choice of toppings folded into a pizza crust and baked. I usually go for the ham and cheese with a variety of toppings, and it's always delicious. The only downside is that it can take a while to receive your food after placing your order.
I've had my fair share of disappointing pizzas, mostly the inexpensive frozen ones you find at the grocery store. However, the pizza here makes those options seem appealing in comparison. I don't want to be overly critical, but this pizza was truly subpar. The sauce was extremely bland and had a strange fruity taste. The crust was thin and soggy. The cheese tasted like it came from a discount store. Even the cheese sticks were not much better; their only redeeming feature was that they thankfully didn't come with any sauce on them. I can confidently say that I will never order from this place again.
