Contribute FeedbackI recently had dinner at this restaurant and ordered the only obviously vegan entree on the menu, a stir fry with tofu. It cost $21.00 and while it was okay, it was not great. I found it to be boring and uninspired, especially considering the price. I spoke to the chef and asked for suggestions for a starter, explaining that we were vegan. He recommended fried green tomatoes and fried pickles. The fried pickles came with chipotle ranch dressing, which contained dairy. When I mentioned this to the chef, he jokingly said "good, some vegans eat milk," but I clarified that we do not consume any animal products. We requested a dairy-free substitute for the ranch dressing and ended up paying $9.00 for 4 fried dill pickle spears, which we later found out were made in a different town and were much more expensive than expected.
I went to this restaurant for dinner and ordered the only obviously vegan option on the menu, stir fry with tofu. It was okay, but not great. I found it to be a bit boring and uninspired, especially considering the price. I asked the cook for recommendations for an appetizer, explaining that we were vegan. He suggested fried green tomatoes and fried cucumbers. However, the fried pickles came with Chipotle Ranch Dressing, which contained dairy. When I mentioned this to the cook, he said that some vegans eat dairy, which is not the case. I didn't mention eggs or dairy but I did ask about honey, which is a common concern for vegans. I requested a replacement dressing for the ranch. Overall, the 4 fried dill pickle spears cost $9.00, which seemed expensive for the location in Hammondsport, known for its pricey dining options in the wine country.
I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant.
Pub style bar, food was good and so was the service! The home made pretzel was insane.
Made the day trip from Syracuse and glad we did. The food was excellent, the service was great and everyone was friendly. We will be back and soon.
