Contribute FeedbackSydney Junction is a restaurant with a long history of serving nice meals in a good atmosphere. However, recent reviews have highlighted significant issues with the service and food quality. Customers have experienced long wait times for meals, missing dishes, and poor explanations from management. Despite the nice renovations and friendly staff, the overall consensus seems to be that Sydney Junction falls short of expectations. While there are some positive comments about the food and atmosphere, the general sentiment is that improvements are needed in various aspects of the restaurant in order to attract customers back.
Alright so i’ve never written a review but let me tell you, me an my family are staying due to the supercars 500. we booked into our room. the beds are so comfortable. The staff are friendly an welcoming an the food is magnificent at the moment i’m eating lemon peppe squid it is perfect not a single bad thing about it. (Also they have good lemons. So if you ever do ever get a chance to come here please do it’s a magnificent experience a the virew for our room is wonderful.
We have been attending regularly for trivia and various functions for over 8 years. The convenience and the friendliness of the staff always kept us coming back, even when the food was sometimes average. In the last few years the overall timelines and quality of the food and service has deteriorated markedly. The availability and quality of vegetarian options has been particularly appalling. We understand that there are lots of staffing issues since the pandemic, but tonight was the last straw. It took one 1 1/2 hours to get our meals, and when confronted about the unacceptable delays, staff were defensive and rude. Sadly, our relationship with SJs is over, and we will be telling our friends….
My friends and I decided to watch the grand final 2022 at the Sydney Junction and order a meal. Three meals did not arrive and on enquiry we were told they were probably eaten by another patron. We were offered a free drink and our meals were ordered a second time only to not arrive a second time! When a second complaint was made and directed at the manager (without swearing) about the poor service we were told that other patrons have experienced the same and were told by the manager she has low staffing and has kids!?! About 30mins after the complaint once the game was finished we were asked to leave? Worst service ever.
The atmosphere was good. The food was good. We 've had nice meals there for 20 years (about once each year). Last week we went there with friends. There were six of us at the table. About 2/3 of the tables were occupied. No line up. Two bar staff. Certainly not busy. Well... My daughter got a new watch, so she thought that she 'd time the meals. After 33 minutes and many rolled eyes the mains started arriving. But not all of them. Only the first two. After 5 minutes we said 'Just start eating before they get cold ours will be out in a minute '. Wrong. The rest of the meals started coming out 57 minutes after we paid, with the last one hitting the table exactly 1 hour after we paid. How does a restaurant spread the serving of mains to one table over 27 minutes?! Unbelievably incompetent. We won 't be back unless there 's a change of restaurant management.
Pre booked for a party of eight for 6.30pm. Monday 18th April 2022. It was a dinner for my Grandsons 18th Birthday. I ordered a bottle of Fishcage SVB, when I took it back to the table it was a Fishcage Sparkling Chardonnay. My daughter took it back and asked for what I had ordered. The barman could not make that decision and called in the young female so called manager who said that she could not make the decision to give us the other bottle and we would have to pay for it. Totally inflexible, when I spoke with her she accused me of abusing her, I have an acute hearing problem due to a war injury and I naturally speak loud. I explained again what had happened, my son in law who was beside me when I ordered distinctly heard me order SVB. Even the barman admitted his mistake and just shook his head in her direction. She was obviously on some form of power trip. The bottle of wine to replace at cost price would have been about $15.00. We would have spent approximately $400 to $500 for the meals if we had stayed. None of the staff were wearing name tags as per RSA and they would not give her name, but apparently it was something like PJ. I imagine if it was my business and an employee would give up $400 to $500 for the sake of $15.00, I would give them the boot. I am a local and regularly have a few beers there and put about $500 through the machines. Not anymore, you have lots of competition in that area. We left the $32 bottle that I had purchased there untouched, I hope the staff enjoyed it. We then had a beautiful meal at The Kent. Never to darken the doors of SJs again.
