Pete's Gluten Free Eatery and Espresso Bar is located within the spacious, natural food store Pete's Frootique. Our youngest daughter, who has Celiac disease, was pleasantly surprised to find that she could enjoy cheesecake with fruit alongside her coffee. My husband and I, who do not follow a gluten-free diet, also had a satisfying breakfast. View all feedback.
I had been wanting to try this place since I was last here almost 3 years ago. I was a bit anxious at first because it wasn't clear if they offered vegan options or not. However, the staff were very knowledgeable and informed about what was vegan and what wasn't. They typically have vegan soups and offer a vegan salad option. They also provide soy and almond milk for drinks, as well as agave syrup for sweetness. They have a variety of baked goods, many of which are vegan. The cupcakes and muffins with a brown wrapper are vegan, while the ones with a white wrapper are not. They also offer vegan nanaimo bars, brownies with peanut butter frosting, date balls, vegan chocolate bark, and O'Dell's wafer cakes. I had a delicious soup and wrap today, and my friend bought me a cupcake which was surprisingly gluten-free and incredibly tasty. The service was great and there were many options to choose from. This place is definitely a new favorite for me.
The salads at Pete's are fantastic. They are filled with a generous amount of vegetables. Definitely worth the price.
I have been wanting to try this place out for almost three years since I moved here. I was a bit hesitant at first because their menu items are not labeled as vegan or not, but the staff is very knowledgeable and can clarify which options are vegan. They have delicious vegan soups and a salad wrap, as well as soy and almond milk for drinks and agave for sweetening. They also offer a variety of vegan baked goods, such as cupcakes, muffins, nanaimo squares, brownies with peanut butter frosting, date balls, chocolate bark, and O'Dell's oatcakes. I tried the soup and wrap, and they were both extremely tasty. My friend bought me a cupcake, and I was amazed at how delicious it was even though it was gluten-free. The service was great and there are plenty of vegan options available. This spot has quickly become one of my favorites.
