We made a last-minute decision for lunch, and we couldn’t have been happier! The food was excellent, the service was superb, and the atmosphere was relaxed. To top it off, we even saw a dolphin playing in the water. It’s a fantastic place with great food, and we will definitely come back! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Sandbar Pensacola Beach:
Short staffed and took some time to get sat (I know I know, everywhere is) Seating situation is not comfortable. I personally do not like high top stools with no back. Uncomfortable metal chairs. They allow smoking on the deck where people eat, which was annoying and a disturbance to others. Servers were just fine. Kind. Nothing out of the ordinary The food was decent for sure. Casual beach bar and grill with amazing water and sunset views! Menu is great, we enjoy the baked oysters, wings, grouper reuben, Philly cheese steak, and burgers to name a few favorites. Also like the variety of side choices, especially the Muffaletta pasta salad, tots, and yummy broccoli. Must try the gritter tots appetizer! Super friendly and efficient service. Reasonable drink prices too. Fun atmosphere with live music a few times a week. Ice cold a/c at the bar and covered open air seating as well.
Food: meh, I probably didn't order the best thing but noting to rave about. Service: slow and absent a lot of the time. We were there when the restaurant had maybe 4 other customers. They still managed to deliver it to the wrong costumer. One of the chefs who created the recipes for the menu who was off work was so embarrassed that she started busing our finished plates as the bartender was absent 90% of the time. Ambiance: beach bar, hard to botch this on. If you want good drinks with better food and attentive servers go to Crabs. But, If you want a stomach ache after waiting 2 hours as an under qualified serving staff to delivers a sandwich to the wrong table go to Sandbar.
DO NOT GET THE CRAB LEGS, potatoes, and corn. I spent 50 dollars to literally not even eat. The crab legs were so small that my fork couldn't even dig the meat out and my corn/potatoes were not good at all (unseasoned). I hope I save someone with this review from wasting 50 dollars.
I have traveled the world eating my way through Italy, France, Spain and many other magical places. The food at the Sandbar/Frisky Dolphin on Pensacola Beach is top notch, and amazing. We tried everything from the delicious tuna dip, snow crab legs, redfish platter and a selection of scrumptious oysters. This is a world class restaurant on the Sabine Bay, with the best sunsets a girl could ask for. Cocktails are delicious too. Our new favorite spot and worth the drive from Gulf Shores!
We came in here while waiting for our table at the nextdoor restaurant, Frisky Dolphin. They are associated and can bring you your food here, or your drinks to the other location. It took someone a long time to come check on us. While we were waiting, we noticed a big hole in the ceiling tiles which they hadn't bothered replacing. It was slightly disconcerting, but we knew we'd be leaving soon. We ordered a few drinks, and they took a while to come out to us. By the time we had one or two sips, our buzzer was finally buzzing. We paid quickly and left to go next door. We did order some more drinks while at the neighboring restaurant, but I'm not sure I'd come back in here. They do have plenty of seating, and some arcade games for those interested.
