We decided to stop for some... read more My wife and I were tourists in Portugal. We came up from Lisbon to Porto and wanted to visit the original capital city, ⁨Guimarães⁩. We decided to stop for something to eat and ended up, by chance, at Café Oscar. They were so sweet and needlessly apologetic for not being comfortable speaking English (their English was wonderful) and the food was fantastic though we didn't get to eat it all. It wasn't long before others started sitting outside where we were and conversations started. We made wonderful friendships at Oscar where we were allowed to take up space. Our time in this restaurant was the bright spot in our entire trip to Porto. We'll never forget it. We didn't even get to see the city. It was a 1 hour train ride, we walked a little, ate, made friends and went back to Porto and the day, our hearts and our stomaches were full. Thank you Café Oscar. We'll be back.
