Came here for lunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It was busy, so that was a good indication of the quality and standard on food and service. Our only gripe was that the beer garden was next to a noisy main road. We shared 3 starters:- Pulled pork filo pastry with apple and currant relish - this was my favourite, the pastry was crisp and flaky, the pork moist and flavoursome and the relish really rounded off the parcels and gave them a nice zing. Sliders (pork belly, pulled lamb, fish) - nothing to rave about, pulled lamb was nice as was the fish, but the pork was dry. Nice portion of crispy beer battered chips on the side. Creamy garlic prawns - served with a bit of rice, the prawns were deliciously creamy with just the right amount of heat from the fresh chillies. Just lacked a bit of garlic. We left feeling very satisfied, will be back.
Classic pub food and a good selection of beers. All the standard beers are there plus there will be a few micro-brewery offerings that change from week to week. Staff are always friendly but sometimes rushed because of the volume of people ordering (this is not necessarily a bad sign). Avoid peak times else your food will take a while to get out. The staff will always tell you if there is a long wait, so there are no surprises. Beer garden is unfortunately on a main road so it can get rather loud and the sun does blaze in during the afternoon. Retreat inside if you want a cooler/darker summer dinner. The beer garden does also attract its fair share of hi-vis louts after work, but hey it's a Perth eastern suburbs pub so either join in the frivolity or go to the Rose and Crown for a quieter time. Salmon, potato and dill cakes are a great starter Pork hock is tasty and you will not walk away hungry Woody burger is a good fall back if you cannot be bothered thinking about the menu

Love, love, LOVE the Woody! My boyfriend and I have been coming here for nearly 2 years and we have never had a bad night. We usually go every second Tuesday for the Irish jam session (we're not Irish) but have also been on a Friday and Saturday night and the quality has never varied. It is such a great atmosphere with great service and reasonably priced, delicious meals. Highly recommend.
Sunday night dinner with a friend. He said I couldn't go past the pies and he was super correct!!! We had the beef and Guinness pie and the lamb Shank pie (with 2 whole shanks in it!!!!). Both were super delicious, awesome gravy and crispy pastry top. The prices were on point for such huge meals.
