We were extremely lucky to find any where open at 4:00pm on a Saturday as it was in between lunch and dinner Nice Prosecco and Vin Rouge We choose prawns (nice) and langoustines (lacking in flesh and flavour) I also had sardines which were excellent and my wife a pudding in a pot Lovely friendly service booking essential View all feedback.
What TravelgroupLTD doesn't like about L'heteroclito:
A family dinner that was meant to be nice ended up in a disaster because of bad service and an awful manager. The manager has no place in hospitality or has to go through intensive training on how to deal with customers. Untrained and arrogant approach of her and one of the waitress made us all very furious. We asked for a water once, after some long delay we asked a second time.. the manager brings 2 unopened bottle... View all feedback.

The seafood was delicious and correct. My wife had the grilled gilt-head bream, my son fish'n chips, and I settled for 6 oysters and a portion of hips. The chips were great and all in all, the seafood was delicious. Heteroclito has a fantastic location, located on a ramp that goes down to the lovely beach with fantastic views of the Atlantic ocean. There was only one issue. The waitress recommended only one wine, a white one of course, to accompany the meal and it was a very expensive one. Although my French is decent, I didn't understand the price she quoted me for the bottle. Furthermore, it is normal practice to have a wine list, even if it's just a flyer, with the corresponding prices for each bottle. It was a great white wine, a Sancerre which went well with the seafood, however, a simple white Côtes de Gascogne would have done the job, AND would have been much cheaper. The schock came with the bill: 69€ for a Sancerre DOMAINE VINCENT PINARD « FLORÈS » 2020 which retails for 21€ at a French online shop. I'm willing to pay double the price at a restaurant for a decent bottle of wine, but that was more than triple the retail price. I found that to be incorrect. For a location that attracts tourists from all over Europe, a wine list should be mandatory with corresponding prices. Just that bottle of wine was more expensive than the 3 dishes we ordered, and that really spoiled our experience. So watch out!

The manager has no place in hospitality or has to go through intensive training on how to deal with customers. Untrained and arrogant approach of her and one of the waitress made us all very furious. We asked for a water once, after some long delay we asked a second time.. the manager brings 2 unopened bottles of water. After kindly explaining we only wanted one, she almost refused to accept this misunderstanding and tried to blame it on us by making us feel guilty when the miscommunication came purely from the floor staff. It is a big shame when the chefs are working hard and making great dishes and at the end the service is ruining the entire name of the place.
