I love the menu and appreciate the wide variety of gluten-free and vegan options available! The service was excellent from start to finish, and even though we were seated close to the door, it didn't feel cold at all. View all feedback.
What LaurieC doesn't like about Beertown Public House Guelph:
Dinner was really tasty and well prepared. Portions are very large so value there. It was very noisy even early and difficult for conversation. When it wasn't busy the music was very loud and then it was just overall loud with lots of people so that zi didn't notice the music. View all feedback.
Unfortunately even though we booked reservations days in advance for a non- busy time 4 pm) on NYE, and the place was NOT full at all, the hostess seemed very rude and annoyed when I asked her to seat us at a standard floor table(not a high top table) as we had requested in our online booking. She mentioned she didn't see a booth booked. I mentioned there is no option for ‘booth' just standard, bar, high top or outdoor. I selected standard. I might also note, the entire time we were there, all the other booths remained unoccupied. This level of services especially when you have a reservation and specific requests is not acceptable. I hope this unfortunate experience is addressed with the hostess and that no one ever has to be put in this uncomfortable situation again. I shouldn't have to call the restaurant in this day and age, and wait to get through phone lines, when everything is done online. I should not have to disclose my personal reasons as to why I can't sit at a high top bar when I asked to be seated at standard floor table in my reservation. Please do better. Note: The staff who served our table were amazing. It was just the unwelcoming start to our experience that was very unpleasant.
My husband and I celebrated our birthdays with our family at Guelph Beertown on a busy Saturday evening. The hostess, Ashley, was very gracious and managed to get us a private corner table despite the crowded restaurant. Our server, Eryn, was outstanding and provided quick and excellent service without appearing frazzled. Although the table was a bit small for five adults, we were able to make it work. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond by surprising us with a delightful 3-piece dessert, complete with a candle. We were very grateful for the generosity of the Beertown team, who made our birthday celebration truly memorable. This was our second visit to Beertown, and we will definitely be returning in the future.

This restaurant is a trendy and cool spot with a great atmosphere and a wide selection of beers at good prices. However, I found the food to be on the pricey side. It's a shame that a good hamburger now costs $20 to $25. They also had a large salad on the menu for $23.50, which seemed like a steep price, especially for a salad with chicken.
