Contribute Feedback What Michel Imbert doesn't like about L'Escale:
The servers run because there's too many people, so they forget about something. The sauce, the wine never arrived. and the dishes were thought to be forgotten. So with our children who were looking forward we had to leave without desserts and we had to eat very quickly without taking the time to taste. It's a shame because the kitchen is pretty nice but I'm not going back to it, at least not with children. View all feedback.
Read the reviews on several restaurants along the beach. This one stood out more than the others. So we decided to visit on our first night in Corsica. We ordered the Duck and steak..wow what a meal I will not forget, my mouth waters as I write this review. The Duck with its sweet honey sauce melted in my mouth, the chief is a magician!! My wife had the steak with Green Pepper sauce the steak was well cooked. All what we eat was cooked using wood. We will take this memory away with us when we leave Corsica.
I went there with my friend the 14 of July for the national day in France. The restaurant was full and even though the service was agreeable the waiter took the small time they had to take care of us. We ate goat cheese salad that was delicious and the dessert was really good too.
We chose this restaurant as it seemed to be the least noisy of all of the choices that night in Porticcio. It was a very warm night and we felt lucky to get a table right at the front, nearest the beach. Of course what we didn't realize is that is where all the children run play and that was also where the DJ set up for the night. It wasn't long before we couldn't hear one another. Thank goodness for wifi and smart phones... The food was actually better than one would expect in these surroundings. They make a wicked Cosmopolitan, and I'm going to assume their other cocktails would have been good, too. The portions were huge, and luckily the waiter was kind and honest enough to warn us. Considering how very full and busy it was, the service was fine. We saw some awesome desserts being consumed around us, but we were too full to give it a go. So my tips are: get a table on the terrace right outside the building, order cocktails, and share your starters/entrees to save some room for dessert.
The food and ambiance at this beach side restaurant are superb. The staff are really friendly and the linguine au fruits de met is excellent.
