Cool cafe in Manuka with great ambience and excellent food. Great fresh produce (eggs rich and full of flavour). No tables available so we chose to sit at the window bench which was great. Service was very good and the coffee was excellent. Only improvement is food presentation - my wife's smashed avocado with feta and eggs - presentation was excellent. I had scrambled eggs with side of a bacon - presentations was po... View all feedback.
What Sidney Gorczany doesn't like about Urban Pantry:
Having read many favourable opinions about this restaurant, we were a little bit disappointed. We visited during lunchtime, were seated promptly and had to wait not only for a glass of water and to place the order, but then another eternity (45 minutes) for our food to appear. When we complained, we did not hear any apology but only an arrogant justification. The food itself, when it finally appeared, was good but ra... View all feedback.
I love the classic white vintage chic vibe this place has got going on. It definitely catches your eye when walking past. It was super busy when I came here for breakfast but was seated quickly. There is a mixture of both indoor and outdoor seating. Wait for food wasn't too long. I had a mushroom bruchetta and absolutely enjoyed it. I also tried some of my friends hotcakes which was fun with the interesting toppings. Warning, their mocha was sickly sweet with a lot of thick sludges of chocolate and powered chocolate.
We ordered the avo on quinoa toast with mushrooms with almond milk lattes - the brekkie was great but the coffee was undrinkable. Lost half a point for that sorry! This cafe also has outside seating but doesn't get as much sun as Ona across the court.
Good food. Excellent and efficient service. Nice surroundings on the Lawns at Manuka. Free parking on Sunday. Particularly enjoyed breakfast there.
Urban Pantry....Being from Melbourne, we have a certain exception and you kicked some serious goals. Welcoming staff, great coffee, a very tasty bircher muesli and a very funky ambience. My only gripe is the music.....Its such a cool place and aussie rock doesn't suit the image. Overall a great place to visit whilst in Canberra.
Uber cool spot in chilly Canberra last weekend. Loved the staffs relaxed and friendly service. Great coffee and Italian donuts. Really good fitout, with a variety of seat settings to choose from (if they were not packed) we were happy to sit outside in the courtyard, with quick service with a smile.
