Over the past two years, the dining experience at New City Buffet has not declined. I have dined there for lunch four times in the last two weeks and each time the food has been fantastic. The service has consistently been very good. I highly recommend dining at New City Buffet and I appreciate the positive changes they have made. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about New City Buffet:
I used to enjoy the best Chinese buffet in the area. However, in recent years, the quality has noticeably declined. The food is often cold and doesn't taste as good as it used to. It seems like the chefs have lost their passion for cooking. It's disappointing to leave feeling dissatisfied every time we visit. It's a shame to see such a decline in quality. View all feedback.
I'm a nurse. I took my friends at this place on Mother's Day 5/8/22, because they were looking forward to Chinese eating and shopping in greensburg boy, we didn't regret it! from the rush as soon as they saw that I had special needs individuating their demeanor. they gave us a stand, but our waitress had a attitude towards us. I wanted to go, but the young only wanted to eat Chinese that they didn't notice. when we got to eat and someone needed a refill, there was practically no one who answered us. the waitress would literally walk past us and talk in chinese. some of my friends began to be frustrated, others who saw that we were ignored and joked with us, told us that we called so much that they thought we would call them. simply said,The waitresses abused my friends because they were special needs. they totally ignored us, not refilling, and when I stood up to ask them, she sarcastically brought them like a rabble dog, slammed glasses on the table. I apologised to my friends, I told the manager how we were treated, he literally didn't care less, he told me I had to do what I had to do. I asked him why the waiters were so rude for us and especially for people with impediments, he disappeared. I guarantee them, some people have seen it. I remembered the manager that these people, although they have special needs, also pay and that they deserve respect. my opinion? this place should be shut down! the bathrooms were shady poop not rinse. the tables were dirty. I am shocked people actually go to eat at this place, am surprised that there is no outbreak of a foodborn disease because the place is so dirty, toilets dirty, men treat same spatula unwashed hands. this is a germ germ germ formation center. it's terrible. if they treat the people on this wise, what kind of eating they cook? I hope this place is off. I rarely give negative reviews, but that was a terrible experience. hold the flap.
Upon entering, my first time at this establishment, the host was completely silent and acted annoyed at having customers. Although there were many empty tables, we were seated at a table with the back of my chair being broken, forcing me never to lean back. Some of the food was good, but more of it was either old looking, dry, stale tasting, flavorless or nearly empty. The waitress was half-hearted at best. But the worst part was witnessing the host approach a table of customers which included a child, father and elderly disabled woman, only to loudly reprimand them for placing their used plates on the table next to them. While that may sound like the customer was at fault, he was not! He pointed out that the waitress never came to collect a total of 6 plates, and that there was no room on his table for his family to continue their meal. The floors were slippery and dirty with pieces of food lying around. The atmosphere of a restaurant is largely set by the host/hostess and waitstaff. From beginning to end I found their environment to be cold and oppressive. In spite of that my waitress received my typical 25% tip for poor service, in the hope that she be motivated to give better service to the next customer. Needless to say, I would never return to this place. Should anyone have a similar experience at New City Buffet, and hope for a better one, may I suggest Fortune Star Chinese Buffet in Monroeville. My experiences there have never been anything but perfect from start to finish.
The food was good with a nice variety. My husband and I especially liked the pepper beef, crab rangoon and spring rolls. We left comfortably full. We will be back the next time we are in that area.
Of course, there is a very wide selection. And I enjoyed everything I took from the buffet. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but the staff didn't interact with us very much at all. I am NOT saying we needed more service, but just a little more human interaction would be nice. A look our way, a smile, a Is every thing okay It won't keep me away, but it's not the friendliest place in town.
Very nice staff! The food was perfect! Very large selection of sushi and seaweed salad!
