The local RSL offers good value food for a reasonable price. If you're not a member then you pay full price for wine, beer and spirits. The food is what one can expect from a RSL - home-cooked and wholesome. It's not fancy but good and the servings are generous. Parking is no problem and I don't believe it's necessary to book in advance. We went for Sunday lunch and it was excellent value for money. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Greensborough RSL:
This is an RSL, not a restaurant. Can accept the cafeteria type layout & even the reasonable food quality but not when prices are equivocal to local restaurant prices. Prices are just too much for this quality of product – the food is not to the quantity or quality of any good local pub, but the prices are about equal. Beer prices are now also too high – with a notice on the bar informing of further increases imminen... View all feedback.
First time for a while and the food /service was pretty good. An easy way to go out for a first class meal.
My Aunt, Uncle and I went here for dinner on a Tuesday night...they are both members and I signed in to visit the establishment. There is a carpark to the back of the establishment but more importantly... there is a courtesy bus for anyone who is nearby. It appeared from announcements) to leave on the hour, every hour. BUT check with the business for more details) The views from the dining area are across the leafy suburb and they are quite pleasant. As with most RSL's ... there is information about locals who fought in the war information and photos on many walls. Signing in was effortless... after arriving at the dining room, the staff member was very brusque,... showed us to a table...no pleasantries were extended. My Aunt commented that is not usually like that. The menu is like most RSL's ... but with this one they offer smaller meals. I had a steak with salad and it was quite yum. It was also the perfect size, I was able to eat the whole steak. 150g) . I found the establishment with the views the lovely dining area the menu of solid choices ... all quite pleasing.
The female manager publicly reprimanded her staff in front of customers, which was offensive and likely embarrassing for them. She also informed a group celebrating a 60th birthday that they could not all sit together, blaming them for not being informed when booking. This behavior was rude and unprofessional. The meals we ordered, including roast pork without crackling and apple sauce, fish dripping with oil, and improperly cooked parma, were disappointing. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was a letdown and we regretted not staying home to eat instead.
Even though the food was generally good, the service was slow when taking our orders despite the limited number of customers due to COVID regulations. The only issue with the meal was when a chicken salad was served without any chicken, causing a delay as they had to cook some. The sticky date pudding was disappointing and the worst I've ever had. It's a shame because the restaurant is a pleasant and spacious modern dining area. I may consider giving them another chance in the future, as they had just reopened that day after being forced to close due to state COVID regulations and may have been facing challenges.
Dined at the club on Monday night and were pleasantly surprised with the menu on offer. Haven't dined there for many years but was worth the visit. My meal was very tasty and my partner had the salmon which was a bit overcooked but still very enjoyable. Worth going back.
