My son and two cousins, all from Ky, had dinner at The Drover after a recommendation from an Uber driver for the best establishment in Omaha to have a steak, and we were not disappointed. What Sungmin Jang 장성민 doesn't like about The Drover:
Wanted to like this place. Steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare. Got the whiskey ribeye, was incredibly salty, soup and baked potato was great. Price wasn't bad but overall I felt like I could make a similar steak at home, meat quality and taste was the same as a supermarket. Service was quick as we first sat down but after initial greeting service died quickly, food took forever to arrive. Overall not terrible... View all feedback.

Thank ya'll for excellent dining experience.
This place has great food with friendly service. We enjoyed our lunch very much. The filet was perfect.
I’ve been to the Drover several times and have had great experiences. This last time I went there I ordered a whiskey ribeye. Well when my steak came out it was a New York strip the waiter instead of correcting it and admitting a mistake was made. He sat there and tried to say that it was a leaner cut ribeye. First I have never seen a lean cut ribeye unless you intentionally trimmed all the fat. But anyone going to steakhouse and is ordering a ribeye obviously wants the steak with the most marbling any fat. He said he would see if there were different cuts that were more fatty. Just a ridiculous response I have never gone to reputable steak house and said I need a more fatty ribeye. JP really ruined the Drover for me. I wish I took a picture of this “leaner cut ribeye”. To management, JP needs to either be fired or learn what customer service is. If he owned up to his mistake I wouldn’t be writing this review. The fact that he sat there and insulted my knowledge of steaks is laughable and pathetic.
Great atmosphere for date night. Found service to be friendly and very responsive. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly to my medium request. The whiskey marinated steak was very delicious. Will definitely be back.
Hype. That’s the only way I can describe The Drover. Everyone says it great, so it must be great. But, it’s not. The atmosphere is ok. A bit retro, giving it a Steak and Ale feel. Except, it’s not done intentionally. The service is perfunctory. The famous salad bar is a facsimile to Pizza Hut circa 1982. Bacos, pepperocini and black olives included. The $25! luncheon steak was tiny and tough, but the fries were excellent. The so-called amazing Whiskey sauce, with a secret ingredient let me guess…. Hmmmm… whiskey? was meh. The dry white toast must be a Midwest thing. The experience was so bad that I decided to forego my visit to Gorats, since everyone says The Drover is better. I’m glad I did. So, save your hard earned money, and go to Outback, LongHorns or even Bonanza, but don’t come to this over hyped dump.
