This is one of the best military dining facilities I've visited. I really appreciate that they list the prices for each item right out front. Service: Dine-in Price per person: $1–10. View all feedback.
What Jacob Stauss doesn't like about Airey Dining Facility:
The food is surprisingly good for a late-night snack. However, the guy preparing it gave very small portions. In the past, the omelets were three times larger and half the price. Ever since they switched to a new supplier, both the prices have increased and the portion sizes have decreased. View all feedback.
Was an airman in the dormitories until 2019, and it was in order then (3-4 stars worthy.) I went tonight (okt 30 2021) because I forgot my lunch in the night shift. the selection looked like they were thrown together on the left and they were not cooked very well. I've got a hatchbrown, rice and a badger. the hathbrown was soggy and fell apart, the rice tasted like straight zilantro I like, but not when it tastes like I eat it from the stem. next was the egg scrambble that I only got because they no longer sell burger at midnight-chow (more later,) dry and urgently needed larger portions. If I can get a better and bigger egg at the stake, there's something wrong. what is with the choice? burger use to be served at midnight chow, and honestly what I remember were the best things on the menu, why take them away. midnight chow is in the time frame of lunch for night shifters, why not serve more than a not breakfast escape. I paid for my meal this evening (not living in dorms) if I had served this in a restaurant, I would have asked for my money immediately. if someone actually looks at it, they might think cool, its a dfac, eating is 't will be big, but if I were to pay 10 dollars per meal, how the people are on the menu (if they eat 3 meals per day) I would be outrageous.
Super good and super cheap. Good verity and great prices
Was an airman in the dorms until 2019, and it was alright then (3-4 star worthy). I went tonight (Oct 30 2021) because i forgot my lunch on night shift. The selection just looked like thrown together left overs, and they weren 't particularly cooked well either. I got a hashbrown, rice, and an egg scramble. The hashbrown was soggy and falling apart, the rice tasted like straight cilantro, which i like, but not when it taste like I 'm eating it from the stem. Next, the egg scramble, which i only got because they don 't sell burgers at midnight chow anymore(more on that later), was dry and desperately needed larger portion sizes. If I can get a better and larger egg scramble while deployed, there 's something wrong. Lastly, what 's up with the selection? Burgers use to be served at midnight chow, and honestly from what I remember they were the best things on the menu, so why take them away. Midnight chow is in the time frame of lunch for night shifters, so why don 't they serve more than one not breakfast entrée. Side note, I payed for my meal tonight (don 't live in dorms). If i would have been served this at a restaurant i would have immediately asked for my money back. If someone actually looks at this, they may think, Cool, its a DFAC, the food isn 't going to be great, but if i were paying 10 dollars per meal like the people on meal card are (if they eat 3 meals a day), I would be outraged.
Wasnt the food that I remember when I was active duty... but, i do know Covid has a small part here too. Overall for the price it was good. Selections were limited and weird but NOBODY was in there eating. Not the same Air Force as it was 20 years ago. Sad... they do lots of hard work to provide those meals...
The yogurt bar is awesome! Service is with a smile.
