Exactly what I'd want in a diner on the side of the road. Friendly staff, quick turnaround time, and LOTS of breakfast food! It rivals Nicolet Restaurant in De Pere, WI for good breakfast diners. They have some weird, tongue-in-cheek anti-customer signs to keep you humble. Even if you're REALLY hungry, you'll still probably want a half plate of Dave's Hungry Man. I'd definitely come back. What Meredith Brown doesn't like about Dave's:
wish I could give it NO STARS . Worst Restaurant ever. The food was mediocre, the service was lousy. I phoned in an order for takeout. And I tipped, then, I decided to check my order, before leaving. It was wrong and the waitress, told me it would take 30 minutes to re-do. So I left there with food that I didn 't order and I overpaid for it and I tipped the server..never again. They will never get another penny of my... View all feedback.

One of the best waitresses I have ever had very attentive and friendly I will definitely go there again Parking: Two ways in and out very convenient
Excellent food every time. Family owned. Super sweet folks.
Just an update 6 years later. Still one of the best breakfasts in CT! Kids loved the huge pancakes and the corned beef hash is one of the best guilty pleasures ever!! I tried the Renee special this time with both the cheese sauce AND the hollandaise and oh man was it indulgence! You need to experience this unassuming gem! They are only open 4 days a week, so plan accordingly and enjoy! My reviews six years ago: Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning with my five year old son while waiting for new tires to be donned on my truck. I hadn 't been here in six years and wasn 't I glad that some things don 't change! In a word...fabulous! My son ordered a Mickey Mouse choc-chip pancake with sausage and bacon, he devoured it! I ordered the Renee Special which is my fav breakfast...two poached eggs over homemade corned beef hash all atop an English muffin smothered in hollandaise sauce and it even came with delicious cubed and well season and crusted home fries. The coffee is served in a vat by most comparisons, so no need for constant refills. Service was very warm and prompt! You will pay a bit more to eat at this 'unassuming ' restaurant, but man its is worth every penny! I only wish I lived closer as this would become the starter of every weekend with the family. I have eaten at breakfast joints all around the country and this one is top 3 in my opinion! Even if you live 20-30 min away, take a spin early on a Sat morning for breakfast, its worth it.
Most hilarious breakfast experience I've ever had. Food was top notch!
