I've gotten take out here twice (maybe three times? I called and placed my order. Quick and easy. The food portions are huge! And the price is affordable! 4 stars because I ordered a specific side one time and they gave me something different. It was still delicious. View all feedback.
What John Edwin A doesn't like about Mex-am Resturant:
My wife wanted Mexican food and this place was near our next destination so we tried MA. Food: My wife found her steak and chicken fiesta to be really good. My taco was greasy, the enchilada was good, the rice was ok but the beans were too chunky and cold. Service: The wait staff were trying to their pre-close more than take proper orders, bring the bill or ask if their customers need things as they dine. Prices: Ave... View all feedback.
Things have changed at Mex Am. I have been going there since it opened but I go less and less. The food quality is not as good as it used to be, seems like the kitchen staff has experienced some turnover. I used to love to go there for breakfast. They had great omelets. But the last two tones I had one they were just scrambled eggs with everything piled on top it was not the way it used to be for sure. Also the last time we were there for dinner on a Tuesday night we waited almost 45 minutes to get our food. They said we are busy and only one cook. Sounds bad from a staffing point of view. Also there are noticeable differences in some of the veggies not be as fresh as they have been in the past. I have also seen a large turnover in staff which is never good. Over all I would say it's an ok Mexican place but there are better for sure. Breakfast still ok, just don't get an omelet.
We had an awful experience here. The food was mediocre and the service was horrible. They forgot half our meal and the waitresses was clueless. The drink were all mixer and the waitress would disappear for 20 minutes at a time.. Now if they were busy maybe we'd cut her some slack but only 3 tables 3 waitresses... We won't ever go back. There are too many good Mexican restaurants around town. Don't waste your time.
We went here for dinner after our sons ball game. The salsa was not good mainly tomato sauce with very little flavor. They brought out the wrong drinks but brought the correct drinks quickly after they realized what they had done. When they brought out our food our sons food was wrong he had a cheese quesadilla they brought a chicken quesadilla and had to go get the correct food. The food we had was lacking in flavor. The best thing we had was the cheese dip and the tea was good. Don't think we will return for a second try. The food was not worth what we paid.
Mex-Am is an interesting little Mexican restaurant that has some decent, but not great, Mexican food. The question is: is the visit worth it or should you find somewhere else? The Food: the food is pretty good. It's got a nice, authentic flavor with mild spiciness and well-cooked shells. The biggest complaint I'd have is the tendency by the staff to overuse some of the sauces (like on the enchiladas). Sauce is supposed to enhance a dish, not drown it. Still, the food I've ordered has been consistently good. Be aware that the lunch specials are for (surprise) lunch only, Monday through Friday. They do not count on the weekend, which means you're paying the more expensive dinnertime prices. The service is OK, but not great. Whether it's waiting too long to be seated in a half-empty restaurant or waiting for a server to refill my drink, there's a lot of improvement that could be made. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant and fairly typical of Mexican restaurants in the area. As a bonus, there is an outdoor eating area, which is great when it's not winter. They also serve a fairly American breakfast, but I've not sampled it.
Love this place. Sunday morning breakfast before church. Breakfast burritos are the best that I have tried in the area.
