Unfortunately as of Mid March 2017 this business is now sadly closed ! We have eaten here very many times over the years. They have always been a real favourite with locals as well as tourists..Sadly the owners have decided to shut up shop View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Goolwa Fish Cafe:
This eatery used to be the best in Goolwa. But with the current owners cannot recommend this place. If it were the only place open in town then go to Middleton. The last hamburger I had there was tasteless and fell to bits. The bread roll was stale as well. Have worked in the food industry many years and know that if you put together good quality food then you get people coming back. Not this place View all feedback.
Not knowing what else was available in town we chose this as it was convenient to our motel. Ordered hamburger with the lot, 2 pieces of flake, slice of bread
Upon entering the restaurant, we were met with a cold and unwelcoming atmosphere. Despite my attempt at initiating conversation, the lack of response from the staff was off-putting. The restaurant, which had received good reviews online, was disappointing in reality. Large signs warning of potential price changes and a surcharge for dining in added to our uneasiness. The decor was messy and dimly lit. The fish we saw appeared frozen and had freezer burn, with thin slices that would have resulted in small portions for the high prices. Given the expensive takeout options, we ultimately decided not to stay and place an order.
I recently had coffee at this place after noticing the sign for "Kommon Grounds" and deciding to give it a try. I was not let down - the long black I ordered was delicious.
I would not recommend ordering the fish at this restaurant.
What a huge loss to Goolwa , this business closing . its service , Quality
