Randomly walked into the restaurant. Didn’t put high expectation. But it’s surprised me, super fresh food and friendly staff. Highly recommend Aburi salmon don so yummy. Definitely will come back again View all feedback.
What Nayeli Marquardt doesn't like about Ace Wasabi Mermaid Waters:
I’ve been a big fan of Ace Wasabi for going on 15 years now, and unfortunately I’ve seen the quality of both the sushi dine in experience degrade over time. From my first time enjoying the overwhelming welcoming feelings as the staff would yell their welcome every time a patron entered, fussing over whether or not I wanted to order anything specific and given free miso to now walking in to dulled grunts, and being as... Me and my girlfriend, and Kelly loved our lunch today the portion sizes were very good.
Have been going here for years! Maybe 5, new owners took over maybe about 5 months ago, prices have gone up heaps on all udon bowls and rice bowls and portion sizes of sushi plates have gotten smaller and price also went up! Always went here for the freshness and the fact it wasn't just a generice sushi train, service is great! Aircon needs to be fixed as serving raw ingredient in the humidity is not good and sitting in a hot reesturant is uncomfortable! Why change soemthing that had such a good rep, good quality and great price!
Usually my family and I would come here and leave completely satisfied. We’ve come here so many times like crazy sushi lover amount of times (trust me I’ve looked over bank statements, and that’s not even including the times we’ve paid cash). But anyway we’re not sure if we did something to offend anyone but the last two times we came here it just wasn’t the same, barley get a greeting or a goodbye, like it wasn’t busy and a staff member didn’t do the usual offer green tea or miso soup, thought nothing of it but the next visit same thing happened. It has gotten to the point where we’ve just decided not to come back. Even our young 6 year old daughter has noticed this and that’s saying something.
I’ve been a big fan of Ace Wasabi for going on 15 years now, and unfortunately I’ve seen the quality of both the sushi dine in experience degrade over time. From my first time enjoying the overwhelming welcoming feelings as the staff would yell their welcome every time a patron entered, fussing over whether or not I wanted to order anything specific and given free miso to now walking in to dulled grunts, and being asked if I want a drink. The train was almost completely empty and not once did the “chef(s)” even acknowledge my existence. I was the only patron there in person, so I really don’t believe at least being asked if there was anything I’d like would have too much to ask? The 2 stars is due to nostalgia (a bonus star for the memory of what this place USED to be).
Tuna sashimi was chopped up like chicken for a stir fry and tasted like how fish looks in a Coles seafood section. I feel sick
