East Side Mario's - Gloucester

We have come to this particular location many times before and always enjoyed our visits. However tonight was a big let down.There were not many customers but the service was shocking. Our server seemed really annoyed to take our order and impatient. However when we were done, the dishes stayed on the table uncollected for ages. We were only asked if we wanted deserts when presented with the bill.Another disappointing fact was that we came as a treat for our twins' 7th birthday , we asked if it would be possible to have the celebration song at the end of our meal, however we were told that upper management would have to approve it, it never happened and no one ever spoke to us about it.The food was good but the bad service we received tonight definitely will ensure we will visit another location next time.

Expect the restaurant to be at full capacity (especially on Saturday nights) due to it's vicinity to the Cineplex movie theatres. Even so, service was friendly and prompt. We received ample refills of bread/salad/soup when requested and our entrees arrived hot. Our 4 meals consisted of a personal meat lovers pizza, spice sausage penne, chicken parmesan and grilled lemon chicken. All were excellent, however the rice for the chicken dish was undercooked and although server agreed, there was no response by the manager or on the bill. Two of our meals qualified for their BOGO to take home promo, which turned out to be a sample lunch reheat portion of your choice of 4 pasta selections.

The lasagna used to be huge, now it's a bit cheaper but significantly smaller and fewer layers miss the old one I always had enough for lunch the next day. They offer doubling it for 5 dollars but it's more expensive then before and still less lasagna.

My son and I Went for the wedding soup, Caesar salad, and home loaf on Good Friday 5pm. It was so good. The best part was the service we received from Courtney. Always a smile and very accommodating. Literally the best service i have ever received from a restaurant. I would definitely recommend this location.
