We had a lovely meal from the restaurant side of the business, food was yummy, service was great. Friendly and attentive staff. Great atmosphere. If we lived closer I'm sure we would be regular diners at the restaurant. Very enjoyable experience. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Giardino Pizza:
Our group of 8 friends ordered takeaway food on a Sunday night and were given a pick-up time of 10-15 minutes. We arrived closer to 20 minutes later and were told it would "just be another 5 or so minutes".That time-frame expanded to almost an hour after our original order time or more than 30 minutes late.Clearly there is no-one coordinating the pick up and in house orders and as a consequence we were aware of others... Giardino has been our local pizza house for many years. We won't go back – not that they don't care. 2 big pizzas on the phone. I wanted to pick her up at the right time. The girl said they're still in the oven, but just a few minutes. I walked briefly and came back after about 10 minutes. Then they gave us the wrong pizzas. Many things before they realized they hadn't even started making our pizzas. You had wasted at least half an hour of my life. Yeah, they were busy, but how hard is it to run a suburb pizza shop? It is not like leading a large town hospital – I did. If they can't get their act together, just get the orders right – they obviously don't want long-term customers.
Waiting for the pizza delivery was over 90 minutes! Don't worry, there are many other pizzas nearby that are faster, have better customer service and taste.
Let's get the few negatives out of the way first. The interior is completely soundproof, with brick walls and uncarved floors. The upswing is that the cartridges have to scream over their own tables, only to be heard in the midst of the general hubbub of the employees and other males. The tables themselves are narrow, barely three people on one side, even if two tables are put together, force the unfortunate person selected for the end position to the path of the friendly staff. The coordination of the final dishes could be improved: In our case, Selwyn got his pizza long before someone else got their food. Selwyn did not enjoy eating alone, and his pizza went cold before the rest of the meals came together at the table. Now for the positives. The food was abundant and delicious. Steve and I both ordered the $32 fried flounder, Steve with salad, and mine with potato mice. The fish was enormous and well cooked. Gill ordered the fatty succinne puttanesca, which came with anchovies, capers and a healthy dose of chili. Her part was so big that she had to take half of it home. It was delicious. Bev had the chicken salad that was a reasonable $19. The bill for Gills Fatuccine and my Flounder, plus a glass of lemon, lime and bitter, came to a reasonable $54. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the whole experience made us determined to try again and other dishes in the future. Giardino’s will quickly become our Italian restaurant of choice, and deserves so that if only the sound could somehow soften!
Shocking customer service they canceled an order and did not tell me that is an additional 45min waiting. Food was cold and disgusting
I have eaten in and taken away from Giardino's many times as I live in the area. Great Pizza and pasta, friendly staff, good house wine... what more do you need?
