Bodacious Bar-B-Q - Gladewater

Always good grill. I don't think I've ever eaten there that I wasn't happy. Her ribs have a great taste. I never put her sauce on the ribs. It doesn't take good.

Go to Mel Man, man! Pays a lunch visit to Bodacious BBQ the Gladewater version. While the legendary 'Que chain has a lot of similarities from city to city, some offer a unique turn to the menu. That's why I went with the Mel Man who is finely chopped brisket and sausage. It is named for the manager of the Gladewater site. Mel Garcia himself hacks the meat and makes his aptly named masterpiece. The sandwich literally packed enough meat for two sandwiches! It's a tasteful feast. Up there! If you are in Gtown, visit Bodacious and ask for the Mel Man. You'll be glad you did it. 2.5 stars

Where is the beef?. This is not the best barbeque in East Texas. Not even close, but it is acceptable if you are in a hurry. The sauce is from the vinegar and not terrible sweet. I'd like to make it better if the sauce was a little sweeter. The brisket is fine, but nothing we can smoke at home. It is not particularly tender and is often quite hard. The ribs are also somewhat hard, but acceptable. It is really difficult for me to like barbeque joints because I know how to taste to be a self-announced expert for smoked meat. This special bodacious is only average, but will do in a pinch if you don't have 12 hours to smoke your own brisket. The Gladewater location offers decent Brisket, Ribs, sometimes chicken, sometimes Turkey and Sloppy Joes only for lunch. I like the beans and the standard mustard salad, so the sides are good. Try it yourself. It is hard to really say about barbeque because so many different people have different tastes. That's just my average.

I met some really nice people today the new owners of Bodacious in Gladewater Texas they were friendly and helpful, I also saw an old classmate from Gladewater school he has the sweetest smile that you ever see his name is Freddy Hawley. If your ever so way to stop and try them out. I'm pretty sure they stay here.

Bought chopped beef sandwich. It was so good. Didn't see any fat in meat. Very little, if at all, bark. Maybe 1 little piece. Have 2 kinds of sauce. Got 1 each. My husband got regular. I tried spicy. Spicy was good. Just right amount of spice. The place was clean. People were so nice and helpful. An enjoyable lunch.
