we wanted to celebrate my birthday on a Friday night. we were greeted immediately, and they sat right away. our waiter was great. he even came and filled our water glasses with our bottle water on the table. for me the service is at the highest level they do not see in many restaurants. everything we ordered was delicious. I would definitely recommend eating here to my friends. we are coming back in a definitiw. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Osteria Bigolaro:
I rarely write a disparaging evaluation, because I am not excessively picky, but I cannot remember a time I was more disappointed. this place could not come with higher reviews of friends. excessively “fish” laughs to booze, which tasted like an Easter chick. the waitress did her best, but was simply not properly trained. where were the meatballs authentic Italian cuisine, of which everyone traveled? over $200 for 2... New menu A+ — Table bread, fall salad, burrata, carbonara, bolognese, all fantastic. Homemade pasta is exceptional in all dishes. Props to the somm (Zach I think? Sorry if I’m botching) for great mocktail for pregnant wife and good wine reccos for me.
Delicious Italian served small plate style for sampling more dishes and sharing. Reservations highly recommended. Fresh in house bread service, tender and flavorful, fall off the bone fried ribs. Juicy chicken skewers. Melt in your mouth, slide off the bone, hearty beef rib. Not overly fatty pork belly was good, but found lacking in flavor compared with the other dishes. Will be back to try in-house made pasta.
I'm so grateful this wonderful restaurant is so close. Everything is always impeccable and well done. We usually get a few appetizers and a few pastas to share. Seven to nine plates between two people to get to taste all the great work they do. The carbonara is extraordinary and probably the best in the Chicago suburbs. Handmade pastas, fresh seasonal dishes, and a great wine list. What is there not to love?
Service was decent not excellent however taking in consideration there was one waitress for entire restaurant I am forgiving this one .(everyone seems to be short staffed) The pasta was extremely authentic , and I can tell you it compares 1 on 1 with the ones in Italy , specially the Pasta Carbonara I had Flash backs from Rome, Venice and Florence I did not ask the Chef but I am almost 90% sure the pasta is made Roman style reminded me a lot of Rome . I highly Recommend : Any Pasta, you can’t go wrong and the Pork Belly absolutely a wonder !
Best San Marzano sauce I've ever had. I had dinner here last night and I'm still thinking about that sauce. So simple yet so incredible. And thank you for the gf pasta option. Always great food and cozy atmosphere.
