What Vanessa Moore doesn't like about Colombo Hoppers:
Wir waren zum brunch, der bis 14.30 Uhr geht. Wir kamen 13uhr und das buffet war fast lee und wurde auch nur langsam und sparsamen aufgefüllt. Die angebotenen Speisen waren OK, aber nicht mehr. Der Service war sehr langsam beim aufräumen der freien Tische. Das Ambiente ist sehr nüchtern und durch den Steinfussboden ist es sehr laut View all feedback.
Very delicious food with unique flavors for each dish. Just simple vegetable curries can taste very exotic and really interesting. Mango Lassi is the best in Vienna! And lentil dhal to die for. Forget the Indian restaurants in the surrounding area and enjoy the relaxed...atmosphere either inside or in the garden surrounded by bamboo and a nice Buddha statue. Very relaxed and laid back atmosphere and very friendly family run restaurant. We have been coming back for years in various settings, and everybody just loved it.
My husband and I used to go to this restaurant every time we came to Vienna (once or twice a year). I had previously added a very good review on Trip Advisor (now deleted) and we did not understand the poor reviews posted by other...patrons. We sure know now. Our experience last night shocked us both. At first everything was great, the food was good and the service was pleasant. Then after our meal things all of a sudden took a turn for the bizarre. We ordered our bill and received what I perceived as a sudden switch to a very cold attitude from the staff. We waited and waited and minutes later (yes we are very patient people) we still had no bill. So we asked again, to which we received what I would call a smirk and a curt annoyed nod. minutes later (at the time other tables were taken...they were not very busy in my view) the waiter came up and rudely slammed (in my opinion) the check onto the table. We had no idea what had happened. We felt like we had been frozen out. It was so weird. We paid and left with a very uncomfortable and unhappy feeling. We will not be returning there every again. There are so many places to go here in Vienna, we do not need this sort of treatment.

The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived. It took a long time until we even got the menus. Preparing the food also took some time. Food itself was tasty but it lacked any real Sri Lankan flavor and spiciness. The waiters were lovely and...talkative. The prices are also a bit high for what you get.
We had two main dishes, one appetizer (a samosa) and two wine spritzers. It came to The food was tasty, but not worth the price. The service was especially poor. We waited for minutes for our food when they had waiters tables, and mine was only a little warm. We felt completely ignored. After we ate we asked to pay. We were the last ones in the restaurant to be eating we waited another minutes, while people were cleaning tables around us. We ended up walking to the bar to pay. For the price, the service and food should be much higher quality. There are many better indian style restaurants in Vienna to choose from instead.
