The staff is really nice, but it seems nobody has much experience. The front desk is incapable of calling for a taxi and can't tell you if the restaurant will be open for dinner. A lot of the hotel is really run down, the rooms have holes in the walls, the ski storage lockers don't work. I have annoyed every time: some bathrooms are a little dated and the shower heads in many family rooms? almost they cannot be angled out at all if the shower head in its holder is at most obliquely outwards, the water still meets in the rule the wall, unless they hold the head or a bathroom that they must be pressed into the wall to be hit by some of the water.
The old magie, but the hotel needs a real renovation to meet modern hotel standards. excellent breakfast and service.
Beautiful quiet city in summer, lots of parking, staff very helpful and friendly, much to do in and near the hotel spa, swimming, bowling, cycling, hiking, winter skiing, etc., etc.

Let me say the obvious first. this hotel is beautiful, and this alone can be enough to keep it on two stars. the rooms are arranged, but smaller than they expect from a three-star hotel. and of course it is host for three exceptional restaurants with some of the most friendly waiters in the world. So why, maybe ask yourself, would I rate this hotel so badly? first the first room in which I was pulled had no bath and simply a shower with a glass wall. the kaulk was worn between the wall and the floor, so if the shower ran water on the floor of the bathroom would pour out. that shows me a lack of excitement, but would hardly knock my overall rating on her own faust so low. his biggest problem is unfortunately much bigger than that. Simply said, the dr. holmes hotel suffers in poor communication, both within the administration itself and between the hotel and its customers. my family had paid for a package that was breakfast and dinner for every day we stayed. we were only aware when we arrived in the restaurant for our first dinner there, which had to make reservations on the plan we had already bought. Moreover, most of the cynical clinics were not able to navigate extremely simple information about the navigating of silos, wandering, etc. the part that was the worst when I tried to make my laundry. my family is currently on a three-plus-week European holiday and each of us has only one week in the worth of clothing. I asked the owner of a writer if I could wash and he said it cost 100 or 200 kronen and it would be ready the next morning. he gave me a bag for dirty clothes. I returned 15 minutes later to find a new one hired in writing, who informed me that the hotel does not offer any laundry services and nowhere else in geilo. one of my family members found a manager who said they could wash clothes, but they wouldn't dry who I informed them, I wouldn't pay 100kr if my clothes weren't dried. they checked again and this time they could dry the clothes, but the total cost would be 300kr (over $30 usd. obviously I decided until I arrived the next day, hoping that I could make the laundry at a more reasonable price there. Yes, the facilities are very nice. the pool and the spa look great even if I had no chance to experience it myself. eating here is fantastic and everyone who works the restaurants is as friendly as possible; but the inability, inconvenience and general fascination of people who manage the hotel and interact with customers makes a stay here frustrating than anything else and not worth it overall, especially at such a high price point.
