We were in the imperial hotel for dinner, it was a Saturday night and every restaurant was packed in the town we didn't know if we would get a meal at all. But they had space in the imperial and the food and service was...lovely would recommend the fish and chips View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Meyrick Galway:
We were very disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. Our order was not satisfactory - the soup was not hot, the brown bread was not fresh, and some parts of the chicken were hard. The mashed potatoes were watery and the carrots and green beans were still frozen. To make matters worse, there was a table behind us being disruptive and using offensive language. When we asked for them to tone it down, the ma... View all feedback.
In all ways, fabulous food: taste, presentation and service. I was lucky to avail of the seasonal Christmas pudding, and it was a very good start to the Christmas palate!
One thing you can usually be guaranteed of in this restaurant is friendly service and a generous dinner. Not today unfortunately. The lady serving the food was unfriendly to the point of sullen. For €14.50, she served two very small scoops of mashed potatoe, and a small portion of veg. When I asked for another scoop of mash she was not happy. The rest of the staff were friendly especially the young people. But this lady's attitude leaves a lot to be desired. We were disappointed with the service and with the food, it's normally one of our favourite spots for a good dinner.
From finding a place to site to the order time and payment everything was good. My family and myself ordered fish and got at a reasonable fast time considering that it was a busy time. We were almost full with the fish alone and the side dishes were nice to finish the job.
I was in the restaurant with a group of friends it was for a party so it was a set menu. Worse food I ever tasted. 9 of us had food all 9 did not finish our meal it was awful. Starters were cold. Mains we disgusting. We ordered Prawn ,chorizo pasta, some of them got prawns others didn't , the chicken supreme was cold over cooked the mash potatoes looked like packed mash. The red wine served was so bad I had to add a bottle of coke with it. The only positive was the nice staff who gave is a round of free drinks
The service was great, but the food is not. The worst meal in our 2 week trip through Ireland. The meals were not as described on the menu and lacked flavor. Too many great restaurants in Galway to bother with this place. Stop in for a drink, the bar staff is friendly and helpful.
