The hostess and waitress were amazingly attentive and the steak was perfect! You know a good steak because it doesn't need a sauce, and that was the best I had for years. Josh, the cook, knows how to make the food perfect. The fish was fabulous and the sides were perfect. It was the best family meeting we had for years. I'm going back. Much! View all feedback.
What Grayson Haag doesn't like about Cherokee Marina Campground:
The restaurant has gone downhill. It is not a steakhouse and the food is not good. It’s terrible actually. There’s like a sirloin and a filet on the menu! That is not a steak house nor hand cut! Been twice, once after reopening and again in May. Also, all 16 teenagers thought it wasn’t good and would not go back. I will NOT return. The place is dirty and musty smelling inside. We called the restaurant to see if they had recently renovated due to our last visit a few years ago was dirty and the food was terrible. They said it had been renovated, so we went and it didn't look any different from the last time and the food wasn't any better. We were informed upon entry that Saturdays they have a limited menu due to they have bands on Saturdays. A couple behind us left but we stayed due to we were celebrating a birthday and didn't want to try to find another place, even though there were only three of us. We were seated and our server told us they were out of two of the few items they offered that night, so there wasn't much of a selection to select from. Long story short, the server was nice but the restaurant food and cleanliness wasn't good at all. We would not recommend this restaurant for various reasons. It's a shame.....Years ago, this used to be a really nice restaurant and it had great food and was known for their great steaks. Now it's run down, unclean and has cheap tables an chairs that look and feel to be extremely old. So disappointing to see a Once Wonderful Restaurant to be so bad now.

It’s a great place for getting off the lake for a drink and music and not for going out to dinner.
Trash. Went for lunch and they had a buffet for $20 per person. Everything was terrible. Bland. Dried out. Some things under heat lamps. Decided to give it a shot because of a lot of good reviews on here and some bad ones. Thought well if the food is just okay at least it's at a marina near the water and it'll be nice views. Even the building was run down and you couldn't see the water unless you went outside. Staff was nice but they were obviously short staffed. I won't be back. I suggest skipping this spot. There are a ton of great places in Nashville Gallatin and Lebanon. You can get phenomenal food for about the same price elsewhere. With the food being stepped up all around Nashville I doubt this place will be around long without a full remodel and much much better food.
This place was very good earlier. we went today, waited for a little, and no other waited. server extremely apologetic for everything. eating was ok and not the original, true cherokee steakhouse meal. no brot, but I'm sure that this is an incoming situation not being busy and they need to remove a cost. I remember coming to this place and sometimes waiting 2 hours to eat and it was delicious. new management and owner situation in recent years; so the dinge changed, probably not coming back for a very long time. subpar and will no longer recommend. this place was of native, fantastic eating, excellent portions and had great brot. I would rather go to nashville to get a better meal or to cook my own from the butcher shop of seven cedar. probably not be back when the things change.
My family and i have eaten here several times over the years. it keeps going down hill each time. i hate to post such a negative review but Saturday was the worst dining experience i have had in my entire adult life. Cherokee used to be an amazing family steakhouse and atmosphere. now it is a haven for drunks. and the live music was just loud and loud and louder. there was no escape from it. every time they opened the door to the outside dining area, diners on the inside were covering their ears and taking headache pills. it was horrible noise. and then, this tiny little menu. and drunks everywhere, even letting their infants play on the table and destroy Cherokee property. no accountability whatsoever and not held to any. and $36 for a ribeye and the only seasoning it had was the water from the microwave it was defrosted in. i have loved this place for over 20 years. Saturday, it cost me and my family $220 to decide to never go here again. the drunks can have the place. it is no family dining experience any more.
