I was lucky there was no queue every time I visited A Happy Pancake. The slightly fluffy pancake that simply melts in the mouth. Although I tried pancakes from other cafes in Japan, my favorite and the best of A Happy Pancake. I miss the pancake now. View all feedback.
A happy pancake is probably the best example of the famous fluffy Japanese style pancakes you will find. I was only in the Tenjin location itself, but I also heard good comments from the others. During my visit I waited very long in line 45min ca. and there were no chairs to sit. It is located on a second floor that you access over very narrow stairs, and the reason why they are so tight is the result of the installation and the people go up to themselves in the waiting list and below all customers leave the premises creating a group of people who can be a bit too much in the wet summer days. I was a bit unhappy because the two times I visited the air cons did not work, so it made the claustrophobic wait and breakfast a bit too warm. But on the bright side, I believe that the only negative comments I have about it, the rest was quite a great experience. Starting with the pancakes for which the vast majority of people are there, I have to say that the taste is well reached, the suppleness and texture is like no other, smooth, but not so luscious. There are other alternatives on the menu like omelets and some other things that I personally do not think is worth talking about. I order the tiramisu version that comes with mascara cheese, chocolate, cocoa powder and a shot of espresso, the rest of my party classic with maple syrup, fruit and berries. All of them spectacular, the whipped butter with which they come is also from this world, the whipped cream well done not too sweet and not over blow and the freshness of the fruit was absolutely stunning. Important to mention that the coffee is also really good. It takes quite a lot of time to get the food on the table and the order comes as it is made, so if you like to eat all together that may not happen on a busy morning. It's understandable to me because they were crazy. In general, I was very happy with the overall experience despite the long waiting period, I really recommend the place. But come on time and prepare to wait.
This is as good as it looks, the line is definitely worth it and I waited about 30 min in a small stairway. The light and fluffy heavenly pancake was a life-changing experience. The taste was delightful and filling, I could have one of these fluffy pancakes every Sunday morning and a happy pancake is the best place for them.
Great Japanese style pancakes, really good. If you are not a lover, the court could even be too much for a person because it is very big. Not the cheapest, but it's worth the money. You have an English menu, not so often in Fukuoka, and free Wi-Fi To be perfect, you just have to add English translation in the newspaper that we need to fill outside the door (you just have to write your name and how many people you are).
