This is my favorite sandwich shop, even though it's a bit of a drive. They make the sandwiches exactly how you want them, and they are always fresh and delicious. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Great Outdoors Sub Shop Frisco:
GF was saying how much she loved this place years ago. She was let down too. Just not that special. Not better than Jersey Mike's or Jimmy John's or a half dozen other sandwich shops. And don't even get me started on Pepsi. I hate Pepsi and their related products, and generally avoid places that serve it. Sorry, not sorry. View all feedback.
UPDATE March 2022: We were in the mood for soup and a sandwich today. The service was excellent and the food was even better. There were many dine-in customers and several take-out orders while we were there. I posted some new photos of customers enjoying their meals. Surprisingly, it had been 13 months since our last visit, just after the terrible ice storm in February 2021. We will try to come back sooner next time. UPDATE February 2021: The restaurant has reopened after the devastating ice storm in February. Our lunch visit was on the first day they reopened after being closed for a week. It was still a bit chilly to eat outside on the patio, so we opted for indoor seating. They are still following safety protocols for virus mitigation, making it a safe place to eat. Most customers were opting for takeout orders. First visit May 2020: They are now open during the current health crisis with limited indoor seating. There is a nice shade tree on the patio for outdoor dining. It was a great first impression for both this location and the chain. We had never eaten here before and were impressed by the shields in place between the customers and the counter, as well as the rail that ensured social distancing when placing orders. See photo for reference.
The restaurant is now extremely expensive. You can find a higher quality sandwich with more meat for a better price at Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mikes. I will never dine at this sandwich shop again.
I really enjoyed the sandwiches at this restaurant. It brings back memories of a place I used to visit called Larry's Giant Subs. I will definitely be returning.
This is my favorite sandwich shop, even though it's a bit of a drive. They make the sandwiches exactly how you want them, and they are always fresh and delicious.
The restaurant #1 on rye was excellent with all the toppings and spicy mustard. #8 on wheat has always been her favorite choice for as long as we've been going there (about 15 years). Keep up the great work!
