I have tried everything on the menu and I have LOVED every single thing. I have driven 30 minutes out of my way many times for the food. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. I always have a great time (food, atmosphere, drinks, etc. View all feedback.
What Jamie Platt doesn't like about The Castaway:
If I could give a negative star rating, I would. The food is terrible. There were five of us who all ordered different items and only one of them (the Philly Cheesesteak) was palatable. The pulled pork was so bad, the dog wouldn't even eat it. We didn't even take more than a few bites of our food. The pepperoni pizza was horrible and only had three slices of pepperoni on the whole pie. View all feedback.
My hubby and daughter got the ribs. they fell off the bone and were tender and delicious. the music was good and we enjoyed our experience. we will be back
David is an amazing waiter! Great food and experience!
Okay. I don't want any of my reviews to shine a negative light on any establishment. Let's just say I know the restaurant industry intimately. This place could be good. I want this place to be good. They need to work on their pizza, that's for sure, and maybe live up to the advertisement of comfort food. The kitchen displays a lack of creativity. A restaurant can survive for a little while like that, but its not going to blow anyone's mind. Local providers are always looking for a restaurant relationship, and given the area, try deep frying some Brussel sprouts. I bet that would remind people of better times. But on a serious note: the reality of the situation is that this restaurant is at the mercy of an entire community that surrounds it. The community has all of three restaurants to prey on. Two of them, this restaurant included, are seasonal. The Castaway splays their menu of steak, chicken, and seafood with the option of pizza and other fried things. I could be more specific but I can't find a good version of their menu. Also, I don't rely on Google image menus because no one should. Lets stick to one thing, and make it the best. There are baby steps any new restaurant should take, and I want to see these guys do well.

This is a great place to hang out and get a bite! Majority of the seating is outside, but it’s right on the water so even if it’s warm you’ve got a great view with good food.
