The strawberry lemonade was a hit, along with the caramel e-Islam, Bloody Marys, and country-fried steak. However, some dishes like the eggs Benedikt and cookies with gravy fell short in terms of temperature and flavor. The Louisiana Catfish was described as lacking flavor, while the French fries were lightly cooked. Despite these mixed reviews, other items like the chicken sandwich and fried green tomatoes were well-received. Overall, Huckleberry's seems to offer a variety of dishes, so it's worth trying different menu items to find the ones that stand out for you.
I thought this place was good? we came to lunch today after the church and we all ended up with the ordering breakfast lol we started with fried green tomato that I had never before and wanted to try and they were great! I had chickens and wads and my wife had a kind of chic and my sohn had speck and eier. we were in a position to go straight and get sitting and our server was also great. when they come in the neighbourhood and have a look.
Went to have lunch there today 9/23/21 and the food was amazing. My husband had catfish it was far from dry it was juicy. I had a chicken sandwich and as you can see it was juicy with so much flavor. Who ever is cooking back there keep up the good work. I will be having a lunch here again soon?
Tried the Huckleberry's on Champlain. I decided to try lunch versus the normal breakfast. I ordered the Louisiana Catfish. There are 2 options available, Bayou or Creole style. I ordered creole style which comes with tomatoes and mushrooms over the fish. Wasn't quite sure how the fish was prepared. Almost tasted a little crunchy but nothing that really indicated it was fried other than the crunch. It was over a bed of jambalaya and came with a side of tartar sauce. Can't say that either had much flavor. I ordered with a side of French fries and it came with garlic bread/Texas Toast that seemed to be cooked on a grill so came with a few extra grill remnants. The French fries had seasoning but very lightly cooked. They provided ketchup which helped. The Cajun style is geared more towards bland taste buds versus those ready for a true cajun/creole experience. For the idea of trying Cajun food then I'd say there are other options out there but for those that don't look for a lot of flavor but say you had it, go for it. Nothing bad to say about Huckleberry's I'll just continue to try different menu items until I find the wow factor everyone else has found.
Service here is always good. Came here twice in a month at the Champlain/Perrin location. The crab cake Benedict is what I order both time but the second time was not very good. It was very dry. My son ordered the sourdough French toast and he said it was too soury. I have to say I?m somewhat disappointed the second time so I won?t be back for a while. But if you do decide that you want to come here avoid those two dishes. For the most part, I?ve always been happy with the food and the service. But I believe the 3 stars is deserving because it?s average food and service, it?s really nothing to brag about.
The service is five stars here. Our waitress was great. The food wasn't the best. So I'll start with the Faves. Drinks! The strawberry limonade was so delicious. My sister and fiancé loved her caramel e-Islam and my brother in law, and his father enjoyed her **** Mary?s, even if he was missing Bacon. My mom's eggs Benedikt came out and she didn't feel that the balsamico glaze would get out. They were kind enough to change it for them. The cookies and gravy were not hot in the temperature and honestly lacking taste. My brother in law enjoyed his country fried steak. My sister enjoyed her skill. And my fiancée was fine with his food. I wouldn't go for breakfast here, maybe next time?
